My local HMV had a load of anime in their 3 for £20 sale. I'm not sure if they meant to since a lot of it was removed from the sale a few weeks later. I saved a fortune on it though.

Well I don't know about it being removed, but this was happening up and down the country so I doubt it's a mistake, or at least a mistake exclusive to your store.

Last time I hit an HMV (last weekend IIRC) they still had anime going in the 3 for £20 sales, including SAC 1-3.

I was gonna get GITS SAC Vol.3 in that HMV sale, I put it down to look at something else and when I went back some bastard had taken it!!!

One thing I'm irritated with Virgin and HMV about is that they keep stocking the anime next to the adult titles, and it makes me look like a frigging wierdo when I'm trying to browse.

Maybe they figure anime fans want to look more normal.

Anime fan: "NO! I wasn't looking at anime, honest! I was just browsing the uh, the porn section! Yeah!"

General Public: "Ohhhhh!, phew, I thought you were some kind of wierdo for a second there."

If you have a Visa Electron or Visa debit card, you can use it on any US site that takes Visa (all of them). If you have Switch or Solo, you can only use it in the UK.

Well for those of you that have turned your laptop in to a region 1 player the best place to get anime is either AnimeNation.com or DiscountAnimeDVD.com. See I like my box sets and there is a severe lack of them in the region 2 selection.

I can't recommend BlahDVD highly enough. They were linked - in some way - to SplashDVD which went into liquidation a short while back but I have found no signs of any misleading conduct from BlahDVD to date. I make sure I always pay using a credit card with internet fraud protection to insure that if the worst-comes-to-the-worst I’m covered.

I have brought loads of back catalogue titles from them that at pretty outstanding prices (Hellsing from £8.99 a volume, Rahxephon from £8.99 a volume, Full Metal Panic from £8.99 a volume and Noir from £9.99 a volume). BlahDVD have also started offering many new releases from MVM, ADV and Beez at £12.99 – Samurai Champloo volume one anyone?

The customer service is fantastic with replies to most of my emails arriving within a couple of hours with the fastest reply being within six seconds.

The BlahDVD website can be found here: http://www.blahdvd.com/blah/Home.aspx

Just like Play.com all their items are postage free (usual lead-time of three working days) so have a browse and enjoy.

On the basis of all the above I voted BlahDVD as the 'Best Retailer' in the 'NEO Awards 2005'.

I totally agree there Squeaks, i bought a lot of stuff there (including the entire RahXephon series. But the only problem is it takes them weeks or even months to get stock in :? They sent 3 volumes when i ordered them, then they got a few more in the coming weeks but volume 4 stayed out of stock for months so i just bought it from play.com. Also i tried to get Sakura Wars OVA collection for a tenner but they took it off the list.
But i must agree they have a massive load of stupidly cheap dvd's (Angelic Layer vols 1-5 £9.99). Oh, also they sent a R1 Rahxephon dvd (volume 2) that i had to send back 2 times before a cancelled it

I am hoping to buy the rest of their cheap stuff though in the coming months.

Also, if you aren't in a real hurry to buy expensive anime, you can always wait for the that most internet sites have. Play.com have the best i think, always with dvd's 9.99/8.99 each, these usually take place after Christmas (aka January), Easter and Summer hols, so i wait for those, unless there is something that is limited edition, then i have to buy it top price, such as Appleseed for play.com because it said limited editon steel case lol, anything limited i HAVE to have, as will be the case with the GITS:SAC vol7 with tin and t-shirt, even though i havent got any of the other volumes

Opps ive said too much  But the general philosophy is only buy them when they are cheap lol, becuase if u think about it, if u wait for a couple more months, u could have a significant amount more dvd's than if u hadn't waited and got them all top wack :p
