Yeah, Big O season 1 was a hit, think the second season was somewhat less well received, though.

Which has always been a mystery to me. I mean, the second season poops all over the first - it does everything so much better, from plot development to action scenes to overall quality of animation.

I was AMAZED at how well it picked up on the threads left dangling at the end of the first season.

Having not watched the show myself, I was under the impression that whilst it might have been "more" or "better" it was largely "the same but" more or better, and the three year gap inbetween the series had allowed people to very much cool on the idea of it.

In my opinion, no.

The second series is where the story really takes off and gets interesting. It's also genuinely funny at points. It certainly feels a lot more varied and interesting to me, and more fun.

And what an ending! I was alternately cheering and wailing at it!

Well I was wailing "Oh f*** off!". It was a Big R to me after that. R for an old Twilight Zone ripoff, the Rod Sterling Monochrome ones.
