The first DVD volume (4 episodes) of Elfen Lied had recently been submitted to the BBFC by ADV UK and has now been passed uncut with a 15 certificate.
Some UK fans had feared that Elfen Lied, which features heavy amounts of "blood & gore", would be cut for its UK release but the fact that the BBFC have not even awarded it with an 18 certificate illustrates how times have changed.
This news is also favourable for an uncut Gantz release, which is due for its UK debut in September from MVM. Elfen Lied has yet to be given a UK release date by ADV but an autumn release looks likely.
