They're region free, like next to all anime is. It's actually odd to see region locked BDs.

Japanese BD may be region free, but I understand they usually don't have English subs. Some do, but mostly not.

Yeah...anime fans can be like that sometimes, and when I say "sometimes" I mean "all the time".
 
Well, I didn't so much mean anime fans as I did your average kids-TV-watching Joe who will pick up Ken'ichi, but not this. Maybe showing lots of adverts with Hitagi in her underwear would do the trick...

Funny I just looked on aniplex, says they have it.
 
Aniplex produced it in Japan, but I haven't heard anything about it being licensed by the US branch. I don't know how autonomous they actually are, however.
