The poll also needed a "Shirobako was objectively the best show to air this year; which Shirobako was the best Shirobako?" to which there was only one acceptable answer: Shirobako.
This is true, although I can't help thinking of this as an elaborate psychological test given that "Shirobako" literally translates as "White Box" (as I understand it) and most surveys tend to have just such things to fill in.
I like the way your brain thinks.

Why do I always forget Shirobako came out this year? I always think it came it in like 2010 or something...
Because it looks like it was animated in 2010? >_>

I think it's because I watched it this year but not during its simulcast. I associate shows that came out this year with simulcasts and Shirobako is the only show I've seen that came out this year that I haven't watched whilst broadcasting.

Same XD. I am always surprised when I remember it finished airing in winter this year.

You beat me to the idea of doing our own polls after the debacle of the Neo thing, but I'm glad you did since you get to use the front page! I shall take a moment to consider my answers.

Shirobako feels like a show from last year to me, too, I am always quicker to associate shows with the time they started rather than when they finished.

What does that even mean?

Re: Anime UK News Awards and Customer Satisfaction 2015 Survey Open

Done, but I think there should have been questions about licence rescues (both manga and anime).

A few notes: For Q11, the answer really is "it depends how much I like the series and how much I'm prepared to spend on it" I imported the NIS version of Love Live because it's one of my favourite shows, but I wouldn't do that for every show.

Q14. Not unless it's a very special series. Most of the time it's an unnecessary expense. I'd rather have more colour pages inside.

Q18. I don't watch TV period. I don't have a TV set.

Q20. Home video releases should never be censored, but appropriate restrictions to stop kids getting a hold of them are necessary. (**** the BBFC though)

Re: Anime UK News Awards and Customer Satisfaction 2015 Survey Open

I've submitted it.

Some thoughts; Q7 (Light Novel of the Year) should probably be clarified to ether mean "Released In English" or "Initially Published in Japan". I get the impression you ment the former but it's nice for clarity.

Q11 (What format you prefer to buy anime) should have a DTO (Itunes, Amazon, Wakaim that that still exists somehow) option if only to be fully honest.

Q17 (UK News) Should be clarified to mean mainstream or enthusiast press again for clarity.

Re: Anime UK News Awards and Customer Satisfaction 2015 Survey Open

Has there been much mainstream anime coverage in the past year? I can think of only three news items. 1) China banning Terror in Resonance, High School of the Dead, Blood-C 2) China subsequently banning a lot more anime series 3) That BBC News Japan exclusive interview with Hajime Isayama.

Why don't you just make a Google account? Or even a fake one, if you're worried about The Man coming round to get you because you vote for the wrong shows.

Just a making sure thing here.

I thought everyone would have a Google Account by now for some reason or another.

What is a Google account good for? I still use the same hotmail/outlook account I've had since I was 18, I don't actually like it but feel like I'm lumbered with it forever now.

I use Gmail, but I also use it for Youtube and Google Drive/Google Docs. Can be helpful for quite a few things outside of email.

Re: Anime UK News Awards and Customer Satisfaction 2015 Survey Open

If you had a Hotmail account you have access to Office Online and OneDrive, so basically only YouTube would be of any use. I can see why the poster doesn't have a Google Account, especially if they don't have an Android.

If you don't have at least two accounts with every major e-mail provider by now under miscellaneous identities for a variety of personally useful and/or nefarious purposes you're doing something wrong/right (delete as appropriate).
