Anime You wanted to like but don't

Well the world would be a mighty boring place if everyone liked the same thing, but having said that...

All those people that have said they don't like Nadesico, Kiddy Grade, Excel Saga, Burst Angel, Ghost in the Shell and/or Full Metal Panic need to go and see my shrink, 'cos there's something wrong with 'em. :D :wink:
 
Voices of a Distant Star - Why did all the magazine's and critics rate this so well? i was bored for the whole 2 seconds it was on. I suppose graphically it was nice but just seemed to be a demonstation of what he could be created by 1 man.

Trigun - Watched about half of it, wasnt funny and the story was going nowhere. Probably not they type of anime i normally watch, which would be another reason why i was put off by it..

Tenjou Tenge - Dear god where do i start? Well from the offset i looked like a fun ecchi but the characters had nothing to keep me interested, the artwork alone was horrible and the story was.....what was the story??
 
I'm amazed that some people didn't think much of GitS, Cowboy BeBop or FMA. I found all three to be outstanding on so many levels.


Agree on Evangelion though. I could not get into it at all. thought they were trying to fit too much in and ended up over-complicate things.

Would also add Serial Experiments Lain to the list and Vision of Excaflone - which I thought was awful!

If you have a friend who's got it, you might want to think about seeing the rest of it and finish it off as it does go in some interesting directions in the second half. (much more sci-fi with a more darker tone)

It's not perfect, but I quite liked it. :)

I'm the same I couldn't get into Evangelion, something about the series just didn't work for me

I think you had to have had an open mind to watching eva, i just finished a 2 day marathon of it and i must say it was another WTF like GITS2. Only it all depends what you want to read into it afterwords or if you want to give it a big WTF.

I agree.. Eva is one of the best anime out there and it is one of the most acclaimed anime coz in the late 1990s anime was kinda flat and fans doesn't want simple anime works and this show is the reversal of that.... I think it is said that this show revive anime in 1990s..
 
Some of the anime being slated here is just plain crazy.
I mean LAIN?EVA?GITS?

These are all genre- bending and re- defining masterpieces of anime.
I know its about opinion but some of these opinions seem harsh to say the least.

from the way its being spoken about,it sounds very downbeat. :(

It's a whole romance/drama kinda thing o_O

I just loved the style that they used to make it.
 
Not an anime but Final Fantasy VIII, the ending with the video camera and everyone partying without squall and then the joy when you see him on the balcony with rinoa, that made me cry
