UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I do hope we get some confirmation of what's happening with SEED Freedom whenever this year ending news drops. I'm still salty about them (to my knowledge) barely advertising those theatrical screenings, so I think throwing Gundam fans a goodwill bone is deserved.

Gundam SEED Freedom's home video will definitely be a 2026 release now (which should be pretty clear from the fact we're barrelling towards December ), but things are underway with this one so hoping we can get it relatively early into the year.

There's no way they will be announcing new licenses for 12 Days of Christmas if they keep delaying and pushing back stuff like this.

As per last year, there won't be any new titles in our Christmas sale this year, the focus will be very much on great deals of existing products - we know folks don't want to mix-in pre-orders for titles that won't ship before Christmas, or to rush things out the door just to hit the Christmas rush, so it'll be all about deep discounts and getting great deals on our catalogue come December 1st.

This got me curious so I scrolled back through Twitter announcements from Anime Ltd. Below are all the announcements that have gone quiet. Every chance I missed something and/or some of these are out and I messed up my check!

July 3rd 2025:
Her Blue Sky (4K UHD, BR)
Blood The Last Vampire (BR)
Blood Plus (BR)
The Place Promised in our Early Days (new edition - Steelbook, BR, DVD, CD OST)

July 3rd 2025:
Macross Frontier (TV Series, Movies & More)
Macross Delta (TV Series & Movies)

June 29th 2025:
Macross Plus Movie Edition (Standard)

May 24th 2025:
Gurren Lagann The Movie (CE)
Oshi No Ko (BR)
Oshi No Ko (Vinyl OST)
Undead Unluck (BR)

May 24th 2025:
The Last Blossom (Cinema)

October 26 2024:
Tokyo Revengers (Vinyl OST)
Inuyasha S3 (BR)
Inuyasha S4 (BR)
Akira (No editions confirmed)

This is actually a useful list for me to breakdown for folks, so I'm going to borrow this as the end of my forum spam session! My notes are below:

July 3rd 2025:
Her Blue Sky (4K UHD, BR) - Well underway, expect news early next year all being well!
Blood The Last Vampire (BR) - Still working on getting all of the materials we need, no news until we have that all in place
Blood Plus (BR) - Still working on getting all of the materials we need, no news until we have that all in place
The Place Promised in our Early Days (new edition - Steelbook, BR, DVD, CD OST) - Well underway, full news and pre-orders in January

July 3rd 2025:
Macross Frontier (TV Series, Movies & More) - I love Macross Frontier so much I'm keeping it all to myself Lots of work to do on translations particularly here, so more news once we have a better view on likely release timeframe.
Macross Delta (TV Series & Movies) - Macross Frontier is priority, but similar to the above in terms of materials and translation thereof, it's another very big project.

June 29th 2025:
Macross Plus Movie Edition (Standard) - Stock printed and ready to go (some people were able to grab a copy at MCM London Comic Con!), this is just waiting for some final admin steps to go on sale.

May 24th 2025:
Gurren Lagann The Movie (CE) - Work is starting on this, so definitely one to watch out for in 2026.
Oshi No Ko (BR) - Funnily enough I've just today been proofing our preliminary Collector's Edition - that's progressing well and should just be down to approval times.
Oshi No Ko (Vinyl OST) - This is quite advanced too, similarly to the above.
Undead Unluck (BR) - Also being worked on as we speak!

May 24th 2025:
The Last Blossom (Cinema) - Definitely happening, it's just a case of finding dates to work it into a busy cinema schedule. Will definitely be getting some more festival-style screenings outside of Scotland Loves Anime too.

October 26 2024:
Tokyo Revengers (Vinyl OST) - Very much in progress, more news soon hopefully!
Inuyasha S3 (BR) - We're all frustrated about the delay in getting this one out, but it is in progress - trying to align things so that we can release the rest of the series more readily, coupled with some other hold-ups, have held this pack longer than we'd have liked.
Inuyasha S4 (BR) - As per the above.
Akira (No editions confirmed) - Current focus is on bringing the film back to cinemas, but a Collector's Edition set will follow soon after. Watch this space!

The expectation is that each Naruto Shippuden Collector's Set will be broadly the same content-wise, so booklets are unlikely for this one (much as we would have loved to had their been enough to make that viable).
Thank you for clarifying - will these have slips like the Bleach sets or are they standard cases? Also, will there be a special discount code for Volumes 2-5 like there was for those who purchased the Bleach Collector’s Editions?

Also, thank you for the insight on InuYasha, hoping for the best with this.

No slip cases on the Naruto Shippuden standards. I'm sure there'll be some kind of discount code for the additional volumes for anyone who orders from our webshop. ;)

Are some delayed releases starting trickle out based on supply?

Case in point, received the dispatch for the Call of the Night CE on Monday, so would this also apply to The Dangers in My Heart CE?

As always, we ship titles as soon as we have stock. Call of the Night Collector's Edition is in stock and shipping (although I know some orders had to wait on a second batch of stock from our main warehouse); Dangers in my Heart still has a 19th January 2026 release date, and I don't expect that to land any earlier.

Just to jump in on this specifically - these weren't Anime Limited organised screenings, so they were arranged and promoted by Scotland Loves Anime. The festival is it's own entity there, so for all of the crossover there's a separation of church and state when it comes to these things.
Is there at least a chance we could get these as some wider limited release next year? I have to believe based on the current upswing in Gundam fandom in the UK a 1 night run of Endless Waltz 4K would draw in nostalgic millennials.

We'd definitely love to do something with the 4K edition of Endless Waltz, so we're looking into possibilities - it's a pretty stacked theatrical year, but never say never!

Boring admin point here, but the issue isn't the template (we already have these), it's targeting sending an e-mail to the correct customers who have ordered and not cancelled etc etc. This is an entirely manual process that needs to be carried out in a GDPR compliant way, and that is the time-consuming part.

Not an excuse as you guys are all absolutely right that you should receive timely notifications of delays, but it isn't a quick job, much to my chagrin.

Perhaps maybe it's at least worth making the odd post here then at times? Guess it depends a bit on how many places you have a social presence at, but mentioning at a few of the main ones might as least let you all get the word out a bit first rather than others sending it out instead. Won't always make people happy regardless but it does mean you're up front with the delays and the uncertainty going on, even if there isn't much to say or times where you can't say more than the announced delay, rather than letting others announce it and staying silent. Know it isn't the best solution but it might be one that kind of works as a middle step between the two sides.

Oh, excited news on updates there.

Poor Inuyasha though.

Any news on a home video release of The Concierge?

Thanks for all the info here, Hanners. Are you able to provide any updates on Spy x Family: Code White’s Blu-ray release?
