UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Wouldn't say the Studio4°C request is out of nowhere, especially considering Gkids just announced they have 'All You Need Is Kill' and they seem to partner with AL quite a bit.

(My feelings on the choice of art style for that particular story are another matter though....)
Good chance Anime Limited have that too as it's being shown at SLA, 2 months ahead of its theatrical release in Japan.

Forgot MCM is next week. Last time it was primarily Sentai titles and a couple of newer films (half of which didn't make the 2025 window I recall).
I wonder if we will hear anything about Angel's Egg. That feels like the kind of announcement they might save for a convention.

I'm curious to see a mock-up of their Macross Frontier set too. There's been no mention of what type of edition they're planning, but it's only been three months since they announced the license, so I imagine we won't hear more until next year.

More pre-Anime Limited era licenses would be nice as well, especially ones that have yet to be released by Discotek.
Very much this. I'd like to see some more 90s OAVs released, especially ones where I still haven't been able to retire my VHS copies, like 3x3 Eyes, Battle Angel Alita, and Rumik World.

My basic boring ask is to see their plans for Shippuden and acknowledgement that more InuYasha is coming soon. My other big want is for them to license Monster for the UK and be working with Discotek to utilise their restorations and discs.

I’ll echo sentiments for more 90s (and 80s) anime, would be a nice change from the myriad of Sentai titles we’ve gotten as of late (not that I dislike those mind.)

I would like announcements for The Eminence in Shadow season 2 and Project A-ko 2.

I would also like some update on what is happening with I'm Standing on a Million Lives which given what happened to the license in the US, is likely more than just the typical delay.

I’d like a standard release for Macross Plus Movie Editon, Poupelle of Chimney Town is a 2020 Studio 4°C that never got a English release, Ghost Cat Anzu seems fairly likely, as does The Concierge. Look Back is getting a BR release in Japan on January so that would be cool,

Then there is the list of things that are unlikely but I’d love got get in official UK releases, reprint/standard edition of Ping Pong, Summertime Rendering, Den-Noh Coil (just joined my list), the various sequel FLCL seasons and many many more….

We seem to not be getting an announcement panel at MCM this time, so I'm betting on online announcements.

Please have some Gundam. It's been ever so long...

I would like to see announcements for The Rose of Versailles, Dear Brother (Oniisama e), Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury (please, AL, save it from CR somehow, Witch from Mercury deserves a proper Collector's Edition instead of that bland and lazy steelbook release CR gave to it), March Comes In Like A Lion Season 2 and Yuru Camp.

Also AL, pull a miracle and save Uma Musume, MyGO and Ave Mujica from CR since CR does not seem to have any interest in giving those anime a blu-ray release despite them being popular. Oh, and save Sound! Euphonium season 2 and 3 since CR does not seem to be interested in releasing rest of that series on blu-ray.

Some release date changes:

Call of the Night - Season 1 CE / Standard moves to 17th November (from 27th October)
The Dangers in My Heart Season 1 CE moves to 15th December (from 17th November) - the standard edition remains dated as 17th November

I'm not too surprised they've arranged an alternative given per the original announcement they'd had custom freebies produced for it. Stuff like this is never easy. I went to TFNation this summer and the day before the show Scott McNeil similarly had to cancel. Props to AL for making lemonade out of lemons.

One of the worst ones for that I've seen is Yaya Han. She was due to be at Eiratakon in Dublin Ireland and in her ignorance got a visa for the UK instead of one for Ireland and then blamed the con committee for her own mistake.
