UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Hey @Hanners @teetoni do you know when vol 6 of bleach will be available for pre-order?

We'll be taking a short break now that the first Bleach box is complete, but our next Collector's Edition set is in approval currently so we're hoping that we can reveal it during the summer, then we'll be back on the train of regular releases to fill that second box!

Hey gang!

We are doing something fun ahead of MCM and asking you to vote for your favourite Naruto episodes!

These are categorised into BEST FIGHT and BEST CHARACTER EPISODE.

We will reveal the winners and screen them live at MCM Comic Con London on Saturday the 24th May 12:00-13:30PM, Platinum Suite.

Read more info here: What’s the greatest episode of NARUTO of all-time? YOU decide – All the Anime
AND cast your vote here: The best NARUTO episode of all time

More chances to vote will be posted to our socials later today.

Hope to see you there! 🤩 🦊
A short list of four episodes apiece for two categories?

If I can’t vote for Ino Screams! Chubby Paradise, episode 192, I’m not playing.

Ultimately we decided that giving people 720 options to choose from may be a tad too many. ;) But hey if enough people shout about a missing option I may at least give some honourable mentions when we announce the winners at London Comic Con!!

At least one user said that Sport Climbing Girls was a favourite of their's. So I will give it a fair shake.

I voted in the Naruto poll. Very glad the Sakura episode made it into the running but a lot of my favourite episodes and scenes were not options. Which is the only way you can run this type of poll but means I can't push Sasuke vs Deidara over the edge.

I'm curious if the Macross panel portents an eventual return to Anime Guests of Honour panels. Someone asked about it I believe last year and the answer was generally they're now mostly focusing such guests for SLA. Been pondering if the break in MCMs due to COVID gave AL a chance to end the practice they wouldn't otherwise have had. I'm sure remaining COVID fears played a part but it likely offered a reset that wouldn't be there with unbroken momentum.

Been keeping track of what's incoming, and I noticed the dates have changed for some of the AL titles. Were these known prior?
  • EX-ARMMoved from 19th May to 16th June.
  • I’m Standing on a Million-LivesMoved from 19th May to 4th August.
  • Project A-KoMoved from 19th May to 23rd June.
  • Woodpecker Detective’s OfficeMoved from 12th May to 2nd June.

@Hanners Is there a fixed disc replacement for Patlabor 2 movie?
The bunch of distorted frames at 1hr20m for the person standing up in the middle of the screen is pretty disconcerting.
I created a Post in thread 'Defective or Disappointing UK Anime Discs' here:
Defective or Disappointing UK Anime Discs due to lack of any existing entry/discussion that I could find.
Doubt it as they're Sentai discs.

Doubt it as they're Sentai discs.
That’s not completely true. Sentai encoding and content, yes. But with the added “All The Amime” animated logo (and of course printed label), so there had to be new masters and new pressing of their particular variation.
These are again targeting an arguably premium / collectors market and price, so it’s not good to be lacking in QA like this. And obviously if it’s found to be a faulty product, then if there’s any intention of a subsequent standard/budget release it’ll need to be fixed first.
Worst case should be that AtA can go to Sentai and ask for a corrected version, as they supplied faulty material in the first place.
