UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

A bunch of the US versions of the recent AL announcements went up in the US via the CR store, this one wasn't previously mentioned. One to see if its also released by Anime Limited over here.

I remember really enjoying this series for the most part but the ending was a bit lackluster from memory but I'll definitely pick it up, would like to revisit this series.

What a terrible day to be reminded that Sing Yesterday For Me exists. I feel bad for whoever has to QC the discs - subjecting anyone to that series should be considered torture under international law.

Speaking of language options, the upcoming release of The Colors Within appears to be a shared disc with Germany and Italy.

Interesting. The CE wasn't listed last week.

Received my replacement disc for Bleach: TYBW part 2 a can confirm all subs are correct aswell. However the only gripe I have is that Episode 22 is the censored version and not the uncensored version.

That's rather annoying. I feel like we've gone back in time in regards to attitudes toward censorship - at least in this instance it's "only" a couple of subtitles/audio being changed, rather than whole scenes being removed or altered; it's still not great though.

If it is the author/artist's intention to have characters say certain lines, then that should remain in tact. Some will say it's just a couple of lines being changed, but I want the product to be as close to the Japanese product as possible, not what some suits in America or wherever think is acceptable for me to view.

It seems like we're going back to the 1990s where video games cause violence and listening to Marilyn Manson will make you worship the devil. I might be overreacting but I'm tired of getting products and finding out things have been censored, like a Christian cross has been removed on a healing character or blood has been changed from the colour red to black because "reasons".

Respect the original work and give us what the artist and/or author intended - and if you are going to release censored products, label it as such. I do my best to support official releases, but things like this just turn me back to fansubs and piracy.

I can confirm Anime Ltd. never released The Ancient Magus' Bride. That would have been Manga Entertainment for the two parts (1, 2) releases and Crunchyroll for the complete series collection. The OVAs are included in the Part One set and also the complete series collection.

I think @Gigabomb could be referring to the French release, which was released by All the Anime over there. If that's the case, then I had a look on the images of their release and the OVAs appear to be on Disc 1.

Partly true: This only applies to the Blu-ray. All English-friendly DVDs, including DVD-copies in combo packs, are missing the OVAs, despite stating otherwise.
