Sentai BD of 2 has corrupted frames, so I hope they don't.With Patlabor I imagine AL will just use the Sentai masters rather than go to the expense of re-authoring the discs to include the Manga UK dub. Discotek have managed to obtain the rights to use many Manga UK dubs so it's likely possible on that side of things, but it'll be an added expense. I live in hope though because those dubs are the best Manga UK ever did, and an example of what they could do if they had a modicum of respect for the source material.
Those dubs might be all that can get me to buy the films again (VHS, DVD x2, Blu-ray at this point) because whatever physical extras AL muster up they won't be able to top the amazing books in the shiny DVD breezeblocks.
Ok, yeah that works too, think I'll just add that to an eventually next purchase from Japan.Sentai BD of 2 has corrupted frames, so I hope they don't.
I'm not going to buy the AL release when a few months ago I picked up the reasonably priced Japanese 1+2 standard edition set with English subtitles, original Japanese theatrical track and Bandai dub.
Is this the same across all the senti releases of the film? Ie the big box and the assumed singles?Sentai BD of 2 has corrupted frames, so I hope they don't.

Well, I'm quite optimistic to see how Godzilla Minus One is going to be, as I've seen the reception amongst tokusatsu fans (on Twitter) to be much more positive.Saw Godzilla Minus One.
Not a bad film but if you're wanting kaiju you'll be disappointed. It's very much a human led drama in the style of 90s Hollywood disaster movies. Goji himself isn't really a character.

To be fair, I'm a tokusatsu fan myself, so that's why I'm a bit more optimistic. But then again, I've only seen ones from fans that I actually follow, who are generally left-leaning and, in many cases, media literate (I often block toxic tokusatsu fans, especially right wingers).BBC voice Other opinions are available.
Is this an actual issue or something that will only affect videophiles?Sentai's box release of film 2 has the corrupted frames. Dunno about the single release.
Frame corruption affects everyone, not just "videophiles". I dug this old screenshot up:Is this an actual issue or something that will only affect videophiles?
It's really hard to tell how serious this stuff is sometimes. Very often I'll see videophiles complaining about video issues and the average viewer would have literally no idea.Frame corruption affects everyone, not just "videophiles". I dug this old screenshot up:
I forgot if the corruption occurs multiple times or only once.
