UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Unfortunately Gundam SEED Destiny is slipping a little further, into early December. We're expecting stock to land with us the week of December 5th, so will be updating people accordingly in due course.

All of us in a few weeks:

God I hope so but it remains to be seen. I fear I will only get one title just like last year. Well, at least my wallet will stay full lol.

I still have over £300 of existing Collector's Editions I would like to pick up from AL during the Holiday Sale just for the AnimeUnLimited discounts and free international shipping - so not even including any new releases that may get announced for pre-order. 😨
Just like me!

I think I have slightly less in AL Collector's Editions I'm interested in but I also have $1500 of Aniplex US editions I want to pick up as well.

Posting this here because of the SLA / Anime Limited connection, but please move if another place is more appropriate.

[Crowdfunder] Save Filmhouse Cinema

Filmhouse has been at the bedrock of Edinburgh's film culture for decades.
It is now under grave threat. Our goal is to save the building so that a new Filmhouse can support Edinburgh's film culture for generations to come.

Filmhouse opened at 88 Lothian Road in 1979. From 2010 it was run by the Centre for the Moving Image (CMI), which went into administration on October 6th, 2022. The same entity also ran the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) and the Belmont Filmhouse in Aberdeen.

To pay CMI’s debts, the Filmhouse building has now been closed and put up for sale. The closing date for offers is 7 December 2022. Losing Filmhouse would be a terrible blow against cine-culture and the Arts in Edinburgh; but it is not too late.

As an Edinburgh resident who has many fond memories of going to SLA over the years, it would be great if we could find a way to save the Filmhouse.

Feels weird seeing AL doing a US con. Happy for their success but given the glaring flaws in their UK operation maybe fix that before moving into a market that is already well covered for anime and related works?
al just released a press release on the matter, got it on my email just now
