Has anyone noticed that Andrew hasn't denied this yet?Buzz201 said:Because you know, Anime Ltd. controls UK fiscal policy... :?

Sounds like we might see a Blu-ray release in both regions (UK & US).

And you know what' so bad about that?
...
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
I've got the old Bandai US Anime Legends collections of G Gundam. For a show that the world and his dog told me not to bother with, I thought it was RIDICULOUSLY good fun! If it were to come to the UK with an extra bit of zing in its sound and visuals, I could very well be persuaded to double dip. With the usual caveat on pricing in place.
Plus, I demand that any and all CE releases from Anime Limited no come with free popcorn.
Some of you eagle-eyed people may have noticed that if you put two Blu-ray cases inside the Limited Collector’s Box that came with first 1000 units of Mobile Suit Gundam Part 1, there was some extra space in the box. Some of you questioned if this was a mistake on our part, and we assured you it wasn’t as we had a cunning plan from the start which we are only now able to officially announce. Though in fairness, a lot of you figured this out on your own.
The first 1000 units of Mobile Suit Gundam Part 2 will come with a special 48 page collector’s edition art booklet showcasing various art relating to the series. This is what will fit inside that gap we mentioned. The book will not be packed inside the amaray box, instead will be outside the box. The amaray and book will have a plastic wrap around them to keep them together.
The booklet will be divided into three sections, Gallery, Characters and Mechas.
Now to put this out there from the outset, UK retailers have been taking pre-orders for Mobile Suit Gundam Part 2 for a while now and if you have already pre-ordered from one of those retailers you WILL receive this booklet. The booklet is not retailer exclusive, and as was the case with Mobile Suit Gundam Part 1 and the Limited Collector’s box that came with that, Mobile Suit Gundam Part 2 that comes with the book is the only version that will be available on day of release.

I'd enjoy a combination of the two, but for something more along the lines of what Criterion put out, thatwould cost more money to make , especially for shows which might not have much critical pieces written, so it would involve commissioning new pieces.
It may also simply come down to what they are allowed to include in the set as part of the licence.Yami said:britguy said:Yami said:Personally don't care for art books - I'd much rather have had an Arrow/Criterion-style book(let) to make up for the lack of on-disc extras. True, either commissioning new pieces or translating ones that exist in Japanese (I posted earlier in the thread about Gundam/Tomino texts that look like they would make interesting extras). I don't know the precise economics, but I'd imagine that it would be somewhat cheaper to print text (and you could probably allow for cheaper paper quality) than it would an artbook.
