Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD & Blu-Ray

Re: Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD &

Good news about Cowboy Bebop on BD. Other BD releases I would like to see,
Giant Robo
The Vision of Escaflowne (This is the TV series - I already own the movie on BD).
Bubblegum Crisis

Don't worry - got more to announce yet :).

What would you like - new or old :)?

Andrew,
President, Anime Limited

Both.

The ones i'm considering of importing are AnoHana & Usagi Drop because there is no sign of them coming. But I don't want to import them if Anime Limited will pick them up? Or MangaUK and MVM.
MVM got a great pick up of Kids on the slope.

The next one I would like to have as I will not import this is Cardcaptor Sakura and the BIG one, One Piece as you know MangaUK keeps getting asked.

The title which would be nice to have even though I have them but most probably be picking it up again would be Great Teacher Onizuka (G.T.O)

But the BIG 4 at the moment are AnoHana/Usagi Drop - unless I import it which Im trying not to.
CCS and One Piece

And the side note, Monster would be awesome but I can see that being hard to sell.

EDIT: *Chihayafuru would be great as well, love that series

Re: Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD &

I would love to see Hanasaku Iroha, Wandering Son, Chunibyo Demo Koi ga Shitai!, Hyakko, Ristorante Paradiso, Aoi Hana, Michiko and Hachin all get some kind of UK home video release (even though I've already imported Ristorante Paradiso).

EDIT, also imported Gosick, and Usagi Drop, but that doesn't make them any less release worthy. I also want Nichijou one way or another.

Re: Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD &

I've got Aoi Hana on preorder but if there was an announcement of a UK release before it's out in america, i'd happily cancel and wait.

Then again if we got that over here i'd happily buy it again to support it here as I do love that one.

Re: Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD &

If I had to pick one title from this list that had never been licensed in English, it would be Manabi Straight.

Re: Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD &

I'll cast my vote for:

Outlaw Star
Wolf's Rain
Escaflowne
Cardcaptors
Shinzo
Monster Rancher

I was hoping to win lottery to set up own company but the chances of that are     not good

So Andrew please release Maison Ikkoku as I feel Rumiko Takahashi's work has not had alot of love in the UK as far as releases go.

I'm a big fan of her work - but the issue is a lot of those titles are in stasis right now with the original rights holder sadly. I'll keep my eyes and ears open though as would love to have some of those works.

As said on Facebook Andrew, if you can bring Giant Killing to the UK on a sub only release, that would be amazing.

I know it would be hard for Anime Limited because it's been licensed no where at the moment, but I think it might interest some footy nutters out in the UK, if you could somehow promote it.

As for old or new, I don't mind, I'll be very interested if you licensed shows like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure or Sayanora Zetsubou Sensei.

I look forward to your future announcements!

P.S Andrew It's my birthday on January 11th, Giant Killing DVD release announcement then? :D

Heh I wish on Giant Killing! Sadly the issue is really there the target market - it's not a bad show but it doesn't fit closely enough with the likes of Inazuma Eleven to hit the same market and I'm not convinced at sub-only there's sufficient people to buy it to make money.

For sub-only while I am a huge proponent of making it happen - the issue is you're spending as much on creating the discs, most of the same as certifying the discs AND marketing it but at least half the number of sales (if not more). So you have to pick your fights carefully there really.

Will keep an eye on it anyway though!

I do have a question Andrew - I understand that both Kazé and MangaUK are playing it safe by only releasing sub-only titles on DVD for now (I think even Sentai are doing the same in America aren't they?). Will Anime Limited be continuing this, or will it be on a series-by-series basis?

It depends on the market - in general for sub only you're looking at circa 1,000 unit sales then the odds are you can't justify a Blu-Ray release unless you follow an NISA model, which most companies have a hard time pulling off sans fan feeback as they've already set expected price points for their products in general.

I'll keep it in mind though!

Also duly noted everyone's suggestions, a lot of challenges in there but I'll keep them in mind!

Re: Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD &

I've only seen 1 episode of Giant Killing (Area no Kishi however I got very obsessed with!) so i'm not sure what I think of it yet. I love football though so I would buy it if it came out here but maybe a sports show would work better if released during a major sporting event? Like, maybe it would be easier to promote a football series around the time of the world cup or something?

On the sports subject though, if you can get Kuroko's Basketball I would love you guys forever since it's not a normal kind of sport anime, it's funnier. Even if it was an expensive limited edition release, I would save up however much I needed! :D (you could promote it at conventions, let a convention show it in their viewing rooms. Seeing a few episodes might turn people who don't usually like sports onto it!)

Re: Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD &

I agree with Cardcaptor Sakura, Usagi Drop and Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! I'd buy those for definite. Also I'd really like to see the Tsubasa OVA's over here and possibly Pandora Hearts? That had a beautiful release.

Re: Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD &

I'm not a fan of sports anime but I watched one episode of Giant Killing for the heck of it. Was happy to see it set in the UK - but dropped it like a lead balloon when I realised it was only for that one episode.
It's available to watch on Gong with English subs, however it is a premium channel so you have to pay.

My biggest hope is that they bring some new gundam series to the market, even if it's some of the oldr series that never got a uk release. At this point I'd buy subtitled versions of turn a, victory & x.

I guess that would be too hopeful.

Ha, yeah, that would be sexy, but not very likely, sadly.

I am worried that my Gundam Unicorn DVDs will get lonely, but then I might pick up the Blu-Rays for them now I have a player...

Any word on where the Gundam licence will fall, Andrew?

Opps I forgot:

Sailor Moon
original Fullmetal Alchemist
Ranma 1/2
Inuyasha + Final Act
Yu-gi-oh - complete season boxsets
Digimon
Sgt. Frog
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
X
Magic Knight Rayearth
Genshiken
Our Home's Fox Deity

Also there's a brand new Sailor Moon anime coming out in the summer of 2013 that's meant to have a simultaneous release around the world. Whether this means it will have a dub or not is unclear. Regardless hopefully you can nab this one as well as the classic series.

Re: Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD &

Classic shows that are sub only on dvd that I would like to see,
Kimagure Orange Road - The 48 episode TV series (I already own the 2 movies & an OVA collection on DVD)
Urusei Yatsura - The 195 episode TV series (I already own most of the films plus an OVA collection on DVD)
Cross Game - 50 episode TV series

Re: Anime Limited Announce First Release: Cowboy Bebop DVD &
