Anime DVD UK quality vs US quality

Manga have authored a couple of titles in-house recently, as opposed to using Australian Masters, and while in terms of polish and general user friendliness they have been lacking, the AV quality has been really quite good. We all know what happened with Panty and Stocking, but Strike Witches 2 at least got the episodes intact first time around, even if it lacks a signs only track (doesn't really need one), song subtitles for the credits, all of the US extras (11 out of 12 ED sequences), and chaptering. I guess the difference is that Manga spread their episodes across 3 dual layer discs and not two. so even with the PAL speedup, the picture quality is pretty nice. The same goes for Panty and Stocking.

They have always had stuff authored in the UK where necessary, they just avoid it if possible to save costs. Unless anything has changed recently they outsource to Eyeframe rather than actually authoring in-house (Sky Crawlers was on their resume on the old site for example).
