Don't let the tv series put you off. I hate the tv series since it's an inferior remake with no real plot or character developent.

Area 88 OVA is a real classic though, everyone should see it at least once.

The genre itself does not appeal to me, modern warfare and such just isn't my thing.
 
The Shinkai Collection has peaked my interest, hopefully the soundtrack and booklet from the similar R1 release will be carried over.

You know.... I think Guyver is the only one of those that I actually know anything about, and thats only because I have the old series on VHS in the loft somewhere. :oops:

Yes. It is a recent remake of the Guyver story.
