Turner Broadcasting France is to launch on 4 March its dedicated channel Adult Swim in both France and French-speaking Switzerland.

The young adults’ channel will be available first through a website and also a programming block.

In Switzerland, the programming block will be broadcast after the end of Cartoon Network schedules from 11:00 pm to 1:00 am on the cable and IPTV networks Naxoo, Cablecom and soon, Swisscom.

In France, website adultswim.fr will be the first development of the brand in the country and will offer extracts, full VOST episodes and flash video games. On-demand and mobile services will be launched later on.

Adult Swim launches will be supported by a communication strategy based on social networks, press and radio.

The channel, which is already broadcast in the UK, offers series such as Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman or Metalocalypse.
I think they just leaked something.

Also, new TV thread.

Pretty awesome, but it sucks the country that's already got a 24/7 anime channel is getting Adult Swim, but UK's isn't 100% confirmed :p

Speaking of which, guess what channel Virgin Media is getting 3-4 years late?

because France is probably on par with UK about getting something around the same time if the channel wants to go global
Yeah, I think that they're trying to roll out Adult Swim on TV in Europe.
We'll probably get it a few months after France because of Sky blocking new channel numbers for SD channels. But, closed channels can sell their old channel numbers, so I wouldn't be surprised if they picked up channel 200

As far as I know the UK is by in large the biggest market for adult swim's stuff in Europe. I don't think it's a channel as per say, I'm certain the Swiss AS is a block on Cartoon Network and the French one is an on demand service for IPTV which the UK has had for some while now........

I'm wondering what would be on a 24/7 gaming channel? They'll probably still do GameFace, and I wouldn't mind watching G4's Attack of the Show and X-Play

I don't see a license for it and I don't know what channel it's going to broadcast on but I think a adult swim channel is a case of when not if now.

Re-runs of Gamesmaster?
Hmm, I couldn't see it happening since GamesMaster is from the 90's and they would probably want stuff on recent games.

I could see it being like G4 UK, with GinxFiles reruns and XPlay & Attack of the Show! live from 11pm-1am and the rest of the day, uhhh, Video Game Related movies during the day?

There'll probably be one in the February updates next week. DS's Sattelite Weekly News Thread thinks it will be 267 taking over from '?TV'

Also, the Cartoon Network Upfront is at the end of March (Scottpilgrimtheanimatedseriesplz), so there could be some International press releases in April or something.

I'm 100% certain that in the next set of Turner UK press releases, whenever it is, there will be a major Adult Swim announcement.

Pretty cool Bumpworthy update IMO
I'm smiling.

Would you want it tied in or separate to the film? A straight adaptation would be spectacular. O'Malley would need to be involved, though and getting the [voice] cast could be hard*. Sex Bob-omb and Clash would sound different to the film if separate too. Hmm.

*I bet they could get all, bar, eh, MEW to do it.

Five words: "Rerun GamesMaster and Games World" Serioiusly, that's a smogersbord which I imagine doesn't run for much in the licencing board these days.

Where was that posted? I don't know if it will be 267 it's a bit out the way and bit too close to movie channels as well to be honest.

It will be interesting to see what Turner will announce in their next batch of press releases.

Read from #46 onward

EDIT: Apparently 'The Amazing World of Gumball', which is a UK-made show for CN, premieres May 2nd. With the US upfront at the end of March, I can safely say we'll definately be hearing some PR's from Turner in April :D
