Absolutely essential anime titles.

Don't forget the early parts of the Devilman manga where turned into 2 really good OVA in the late 80's & early 90's. A very successful adaptation as the required modernized didn't hurt the product at all and actually enhanced it.

Too bad they never finished it off, as another 2-3 OVA would be all they require to finish the story. They willing to do Hellsing series of 8+ OVA's but not interested in doing 2 more for Devilman OVA's. I never understand the way the Anime industry thinks sometimes.
Oh no i,ve not forgot about those and yeah they were superb but as you said they never finished the whole story which is really frustrating because they were done that good you just wish they went ahead and made more, still confusing that as the years roll on that they wont do another adaption of Devilman, hell even a new ova, movie or even a whole tv series would be amazing in the right hands.

Sailor Moon does remain a classic though. It's true that there's only twenty something canon episodes, but the filler is apart of the show. No need for another DVD release urgently, however.

Too much filler in my opinion, compare Sailor Moons 18 volume manga and 200 episode series to Monster which also had 18 volumes but only 76 episodes in the anime production.

The only time in all those 200 episodes where Sailor Moon rose above 'rather meh' for me is the last 10 or so episodes of R (second series) for a brief while it really shone, but unfortunately it didn't last.

Unlike Monster though, the Sailor Moon anime doesn't particularly try to follow the manga, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Enough to own it a zillion times over the years :)

I liked Sailor Moon S much more than R, though SuperS was a little dodgy.

Don't worry, I'm not at any risk of having seen an episode of Bleach that involved cake baking or any similarly filler-type content. :p
