So... Jetix continue to prove to be the UK's only hope

I remember Tenchi on Cartoon Network, but I am a big fan :p Didn't Jetix USED to be Fox Kids, so all the shows we used to watch back in the days of Fox Kids are still held by Jetix. Escaflowne was rubbish though, couldn't get into it, and longed for Sci-Fi UK to show Evangelion again, bet...

Animax May be Coming to the UK!!

With the downfall of Anime Central (and ADVs Anime Network), why would this happen, but I have found an article on DigitalSpy, that states Animax owners Sony are in talks with various countries to get the channel screened... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/show ... tcount=161

pokemon is too much of a cash-cow now, I'd prefer to see it uncut, asides from that kiddy nonsense

Anime Central to be taken off the air!

Animax is a Pay-Channel. They don't broadcast in the UK as they don't/can't get the license to do so, Even though the UK harps on about being part of the EU, we're not!! Animax hold licenses to broadcast to mainland Europe, we are neither mainland, nor Europe... We're better off hoping for a...

    Death Note Vol.1

I'm waiting for the boxset. My dad grabbed me a DVD of death-note while he was in Japan last time, and I am definitely hooked, but I'll bide my time until the boxset comes out in a few months...

    Batman Gotham Knight

I stand corrected, Final Flight was a pre-cursor to the next Matrix film, apologise

    Batman Gotham Knight

Warner/DC also have this way of creating "chiselled" heroes when it comes to animation, something I always found a plus over the marvel animations. *Chiselled - prominent chins, upright stature, look at Superman and Batman for starters!! Batman Gotham Knight is pretty slick, I'm about half...

    Batman Gotham Knight

While I agree that when you think of Batman you think of Adam West, but surely those original Batman episodes where meant as parodies, there was nothing serious about any or them, they were fun, don't get me wrong, but when I think of the voice of Batman, I do instintively think of Kevin Conroy...

    Batman Gotham Knight

I read the Batman Manga: Child of Dreams and the whole concept of a Batman anime is something I welcome, I wish they'd do a whole Batman series as Anime. IN FACT, the guy who wrote Child of Dreams actually does one of the Episodes on Gotham Knight... FANTASTIC!!! Batman has always been a hero...

Speed Racer flops at box-office; woe for live-ac anime films

The Wachowski (forgive the spelling) Brothers did say they wanted to make a film that there nieces and nephews could watch, unlike the Matrix, which was aimed at an older audience... Please forgive me if this has already been said too, but not many movie go-ers these days will remember/know...

    British Dubbed Animes?

No it wasn't Anime FX/Anime UK, it was a company called Crusader Video, Helen McCarthy was involved with the voice-overs, but little else, I believe. They rather foolishly decided to do Brit dubbed Anime for a British audience, it was only after they'd dubbed K.O Century Beast Warriors (not...

Anime Central to show Christmas marathons

I watched Paranoia Agent when it was originally release on DVD. It is a very acquired taste. I also think people may struggle to comprehend the things that are going on... I am loath to say it, but I think it may well be too complicated for the UK anime viewing public... Witch Hunter Robin...

    New Guyver trailer online

Is it me, or does this look just like the original guyver series release by Manga Entertainment (uk) many years ago. The only difference I've seen is the Mizuki character is slightly different to the original. All the guyver designs are exactly the same as before. I also think the character and...

    APPLESEED

It is very, very rare for a japanese DVD to have english subtitles. I tried this trick to get the Naruto Movie: Rescue the Snow Princess. And failed due to this factor. It was actually one of the Customer Service staff at PlayAsia that told me the fact about japanese dvds and subtitles.

Replace glitched Stand Alone Complex #4

Funnily enough Volume 4 of the American release had to be returned by purchasers when Manga realised they had put the wrong labels on the DVDs. The DTS version was labelled Dolby 5.1 and the Dolby 5.1 version was labelled DTS. No problems with sound quality, and all my version are pretty good...

Review: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex #5

I'm one of those impatient types (I originally had GITS: SAC on FanSub) so I imported this series from the USA (you get better freebies with it too). I can honestly say it just gets better and better, with the last episode leaving you reeling. I don't think I'll be buying the 2ng GIG though...
