I've had a dispatch email from AOL for an order that only had Spice and Wolf part 1 CE left. Either that's over a month early or AOL's system has had a meltdown. Former would be nice.
It's probably gonna be several more days before any sale orders are dispatched then. This might be the first time we don't find out what's in the mystery boxes before the sale ends. Can't remember if that happened before.
Tbh, if the tradeoff was getting Perfect Blue, Cyberpunk, and Devilman...
Didn't this happen with another release a while back? I think it was Gunbuster.
Just when you thought Amazon couldn't be more villainous, they pull this crap again.
And they've arrived! No dispatch email as have the Spice & Wolf CE left in the order, so something of a surprise.
Both are things of absolute beauty. Cyberpunk's steelbook finish is gold rather than yellow and looks classy af. And I love the wrap-around box art for Perfect Blue. The set's a...
🤯
I knew if I made a post saying there's no chance they'd get that out before Christmas, that's exactly what they'd do. No need to thank me.
Just waiting for AOL send PB along with Cyberpunk. Noticed PB is "sold out" on AL's store, presumably not forever.
To Macross Plus or not to Macross Plus, that is the question. Stupid oversized square ughhhh. Still no movie SE. I thought that was being sold at MCM in October.
At the moment, Devilman is the only cert.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners SE and Steelbook pushed back to 8th December according to AOL and Amazon 🥲
Both of those editions along with the CE still down as 24th November on AL's store.
😈
I mean, surely they have to release SOMETHING between now and the end of the year, and my relentlessly optimistic take is that the ones I want the most are getting priority.
You have my blessing to burn me at the stake if/when the delays hit 🔥
Wanting money for new preorders while delaying most of the existing ones is... something.
I might regret typing this, but at this point Cyberpunk and Perfect Blue, the preorders I care most about, still have their original release dates.
Yep, here we go. I gave up preordering from their store a couple of years ago because of this. I gave them the benefit of the doubt on this occasion seeing as they were only having my money a month or so early (some people don't care about this, and that's great for them, but I do) and then the...
That's more like it from AL. Interesting stuff I haven't already imported months or a year or more ago (apart from Dangers in my Heart).
Perfect Blue is the pick of the bunch. A fantastic looking set and finally a decent visual presentation for a truly great film. Same release date as Devilman...
8th December release date. Wonder what the chances are of this being released before Christmas. There'll be the sales as well 💥
Big saving though. Argh. This is how they get you.
Thanks to those who responded about Place Further than the Universe. I got a response asking me to confirm my address a week or so ago, but no response to that and no discs yet.
I gave up waiting on Eizouken and imported the Sentai standard. Having seen that CE, I have no regrets.
Where Blood etc
Did anyone ever get any joy with the Place Farther Than the Universe disc replacement? I've run into the good old "ignore till they go away" issue that has plagued many others unfortunate enough to have had cause to contact AL customer "service". Used contact form and email, etc.
In 25 years...
I reckon there's about as much chance of anyone from AL addressing what the hell happened with Kakegurui s2 as there is them addressing why we got pretty much every Gundam under the sun bar 0080 and 08th MS team, two of the most well regarded series in the franchise.
Once AL decide that - for...
I got the GKIDS Steelbook from CR this week. It's really nice.
AL got to pay the bills I guess, and if the shounen stuff helps them do that, good for them. I just wish it wasn't entirely at the expense of everything they have that interests me.
Sentai are re-releasing VHD on Blu-ray (again) this summer. I'll have to make sure to get a copy this time. I haven't seen it since I was about 13, when Manga UK released it on VHS. It didn't leave much of an impression, and I imagine it suffers in comparison to Bloodlust, but funnily enough the...
It's why I've largely gone back to importing US releases, mostly Discotek and Sentai. I've owned Call of the Night for what must be well over a year at this point, and bought both seasons of Dangers in my Heart as they came out. All barebones keepcase releases but shelf space, value for money...
