UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Question for you lot: Is it always the case that it's not possible to use both the BOGOF and Bundle deals in one order? I don't seem to be able to have it apply both deals in my cart at checkout :-(. Edit: to clarify, I mean when buying four products in one order; two separate deals.

Yeah, fair. I have more confidence in the quality of ALTD's materials these days anyways. Kind of sucks for those who got the US LE, but I'd rather this than ending up with a quadruple-priced multi-language disc with a slipcover made of sawdust.

Really weird timeline of events with this release. Crunchyroll must've just somehow forgotten they didn't have the rights for this or something. Hard to blame ALTD for the situation tbh, nice that we're getting it.

Wild that they're not dubbing Bocchi for the US release. Kind of makes me glad we're not getting it (at least until the show inevitably is dubbed but they end up releasing the sub-only blu-ray here in a few years)

Crunchyroll sponsoring this sidemen charity match but not being able to release k-on in blu ray sums it up really 😅

Tamako Market is great. I don't think the movie (Love Story) is as good as their other films, but it's a relaxing, lighthearted comedy altogether. I like All The Anime's collectors release of that, too. Quite a nice artbook/storyboard book pair there translated by the UK team, and they fixed the...

Doing good with the KyoAni titles this year here in the U.K. on blu ray, eh? So far, one cancelled and the other pulled from sale pending “art review”. At least they won’t have to recall it this time if it never makes it onto shelves!! Guess the discs are going back in the warehouse next to...

I think Goodfellas are the licensor (a french company). At least, that's who are listed as the "Courtesy of" on the BFI's site for it's screening next month. Their website says they've distributed a bunch of the Ghiblis over the other side of the channel, so I wouldn't be surprised. Not sure...

Overseas UK Blu-Ray List / Australian Blu-ray List / USA Region B and Geolocked List

I picked up a copy of Sentai's soremachi "And Yet The Town Moves" Blu-Ray release awhile back (great series!) - I notice you have it listed as "geo-locked" -- but it runs totally fine in my player (region B), no bypass needed.

Ofcom's annual media nations report is out today and places Crunchyroll as being used by 2% of surveyed UK households in the last 3 months (n/c from reporting year 2022, only of the portion of households who use VOD services to begin with)...

I guess K-ON kind-of makes sense, given they previously only released it in limited edition. Hope they don't have to recall it this time. Interestingly K-ON hasn't made it over from Funimation yet on streaming. This does give me some hope though they'll eventually get round to doing a Haruhi...

Quite surprising indeed. I doubt the early announcement was the cause of this, it was properly announced via a press release along with a bunch of other titles. It's unusual that a large title like this got announced before any word of a US release, though. I guess it's possibly just a matter of...

    BBFC Passed Anime Updates

Looks like it's incorrectly marked as a Film on the BBFC website. It displays as a 15 because that's the rating of the first item in the set. This is because films may contain bonus discs of a higher rating than the main feature (e.g. encanto's bonus features), and so the BBFC site is...

The image they're using for One Piece 31 has Blu-Ray on the side of the box. I thought OP in the UK was DVD only? Listing seems to be for 4xDVD only, so maybe it's a mistake or placeholder.

Is it just me or does the BBFC's recent change to make individual episode rating details expand/contract mean you can no longer click through to read individual rating content description details of each episode? I'm missing my weekly dose of slightly unhinged and ostensibly formal descriptions...
