ADV Films UK halt sale & distribution of select titles

Looking back over the years it does seem to be a pattern, I remember when Manga Ent. went screwy after gaining a fair amount of popularity. ADV popped along and released some good quality Anime and then Manga seemed to go in convulsions, now we rarely see anything from them. Although since...

    Persona 3 release date

My sister is still yet to finish the first, she's worked so hard for the perfect ending, she's about to start the final final boss. Didn't stop her from buying the other games in the series, no doubt this one will be bought too and gather dust ... poor game :(

Big ADV UK sale for one week; now - anime DVDs going for £1

Been trying the shop for the last 10 mins, still no joy .... ho hum :(

    Blue Spring

I bought this DVD about a year ago on a random gamble, I thought it was great. I really enjoyed watching it.

Latest issue of ImagineFX UK magazine is manga special

Great, they did another one once before, I'll have to get this one. Great magazine to learn from too :)

    BBC4 showing Spirited Away

Ha ha, I still have the VHS recording I made of that .... in fact, all the Anime that was shown on TV back then, well the terrestrial stuff anyway. I think the only one I missed was the first episode of Tokyo Babylon. It's weird, my mum has never liked Anime, but as a family we'd all sit down...

Brown wants to ban knives from video game lead characters...

It's a shame that as always the few idiots in the world have to ruin it for the many. I get so tired and annoyed at the unintelligent approach taken by the majority of people when it comes to violence in games, sadly it's the same argument on both sides of the fence. Within reason I don't...

    Grandia 1

Having a Saturn I could only get Jap Grandia, which put me off ... though I wanted to play it badly! Thankfully Grandia II was on DC, and it STILL is my all time favourite RPG, followed closely by Shining Wisdom and Dark Saviour. None of these new fangled games are a scratch on them.

    Phantasy Star Online!

Me and my brother played that for hours at a time on the DC, we racked up £300+ phone bills, it was never the same on any other system. I started PSO Ep II, but never got to unlocking the new levels, I think I started Very Hard on PSO 1. Possibly my favourite online game ever. I started...

    Ebay alert

Wow I had no idea Burning Rangers was rare, I still play it to this day, though my Saturn is now on it's last legs :(

    BBC4 showing Spirited Away

Yeah I remember that, I still got my grainy VHS recording I made (it was closer to 13/14 years ago, I was in year 9 at school), though last week I finally bought the DVD ... dunno why it took me so long. Anybody remember BBC2 showing Rojin-Z and Patlabor? Or Ch4's Late Licence showing...

I've noticed something about both my local Waterstones

I went into Waterstones yesterday, and some of the Manga still had the 3 for 2 stickers on, pity they had such a piss-poor selection. When I worked in retail we were obliged to honour the offer if it was still on the product, so you might get lucky.

    Soul Calibur 4 and Legends

Wow, that's kinda cool. After the last run of secret characters I never expected Star Wars, I just checked on the 1up site and they reckon there's a good chance that they may be a couple more SW characters to come. I think they'll have to pull something seriously amazing from out of their...

What you guys doing right now.

Warming up for the day, designing a new web site for a client, before meeting them later today ..... no doubt working long into the night.

Hiroki Endo's Eden, it's an endless world

I've only got Volumes 1 & 2, but I'm really liking it. I've been looking to find something that can fill the void that Akira left, and this may do it. I agree with what Ramadahl said about the characters, they could do with a more development, especially at the beginning. But I'm assuming...

    Air Gear

I recently started the Airgear Manga and thought it was freakin' ace, I'm only part 4 though, I'm really looking forward to more when I get the money together. I've been thinking about the Anime too, but was worried it wouldn't quite be the same, I think I might take a look now. Luckily I...

Japan starts crack down on fansubs and scanlations

I may sound stupid but it roped me in, I wouldn't normally have bought Burst Angel or Lunar Legend Tsukihime, but the first volume was a fiver, in fact 90% of the Volume one Anime DVD's were a fiver in HMV. I'm now happily saving away to buy the next volumes of both series. I find it strange...

    Blu-Ray Anime

I honestly don't think HD is all that right now, I'm using my bros 720p TV right now to type this and it only runs at a resolution of 1360x768 on my PC which when I think about it is pretty poor. I've been playing Battlefield 2 on a 17" monitor at 1280x1024 (a higher volume of pixels) with 16x...

Japan starts crack down on fansubs and scanlations

See I'm lucky to that end, I live in North London so it only takes me 45mins-1hr to go to Central London, then I can browse in FP, Gosh or Orbital Manga. Some of the publishers have previews online of the next release, but I've always found it's never enough really, only a few pages at most...

Japan starts crack down on fansubs and scanlations

Slowly getting back on topic, I remember the days of good ol' VHS, it was hard enough for me to find genuine Anime, let alone pirate stuff, but fans still bought and watched it. I know that I only experienced a small smattering of what was available, but I was content with my Dominion and 3x3...
