What is it you don't like about the character designs? Gothic? It is true that it starts slow but when it gets into its stride it becomes much better. There is much worse, less original stuff out there.

Ah, I forgot about that bit. Just watched the ending again to remind me. I still think the ending is a good thought provoking one though. They could have gone all hollywood with a happy ever after ending but that is what I don't like.

I actually really enjoyed Gilgamesh. Alright the action isn't great but this is about the drama, the mystery. It is a very plot driven anime, just how I like it. I liked the ending. My interpretation of it was to create a new world without the flaws of mankinds past. It did make sense to me...

Neo magazine also gave Yugo 5 stars so obviously it is not universally crap. I might still buy it just to see since it is so cheap.

I own FMP and Elfen lied. The FMP is a 7 disc scanavo but the Elfen Lied one is actually a 4 disc digipak. A bit like the Azumanga one. Hope this helps :)

Bootlegs are the worst for me. With bootlegs the money goes into criminal activity. I accidently bought one of those 3 discs region 0 sets without realising it was fake (Last Exile). I actually found out it was a fake on the internet forums and then I bought the official one :)

I like a little CG anime like Appleseed but if this style would dominate in the future I would be :( . I much prefer the hand drawn style.

Nope, not the wrong thread. You just misread my point. What I am saying is that I hope a company such as Optimum gets the rights to distribute this film because they can be pretty quick with releases. Ghibli films were an example (Tales from Earthsea was released in UK quickly by anime standards)

I hope this turns out as good as it looks. And I hope it doesn't take too long to get released in the UK. Maybe Optimum should get it, they have been pretty good with the Ghibli releases speed wise.

I am pretty sure people are slating the Scanavo overlap cases ADV use for Last Exile and Chrono Crusade complete collections. Now they are bad :x

Give Last Exile a shot. Fantasy/sci fi with a good story and good action. The first proper anime I watched and still one of my best.
