I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel like maybe I'm falling out of anime, but then other times I'll be like "Anime is the greatest thing ever" it's just the nature of people yer feelin' methinks. We're a changeable lot.

Another thing worth noting, Funimation's youtube channel has some shows available for free legal watching. Not a huge number (You'll get a lot of "this show is not licenced for your area" stuff) but it's another way of watching some anime online for free and legally =)

I think they should. Seems a shame to go to all the effort of retelling the series and just stop with the stuff that's already been done to some extent.

What is the point of the coin collecting though? Do you actually get anything in the end? Or is it another "finish your pokedex and get a certificate" thing?
