It's not exactly that, it's just that modern (non-american) equipment is capable of handling both PAL and NTSC and when the original material is NTSC sometimes it's just not worth converting to PAL as it requires effort and is potentially problematic.
I was waiting for K-ON to become available on amazon UK to avoid extra processing charges for the VAT but I guess I'll place an order on the German branch just in case
These fees are 15-25€ per parcel where I live, so I guess this means I regrettably have to say goodbye to your website except for big orders of in-stock items. It's very sad to me because in my opinion you're the best around. It was a pleasure.
Yeah the UK discs use the Funi masters. Funnily enough, the French DVD set uses the same collectors packaging so one could theoretically build a UK CE by combining the discs from a UK standard edition Blu and a French DVD set.
Another one which has the same packaging but completely different...
There are four compilation films of the series which are included in the AL boxset.
There is the film "Eternity and the auto-memory doll" which is the current Early Bird is essentially an additional story which fits within the series (essentially an extended two-part episode).
There is also...
The whole stamp book situation seems a bit weird to me because I pre-ordered the French set from their website, and I received a second set of stamps with the replacement discs. But both sets are identical, so were the plans to have two identical stamp sets from the beginning?
I'd say the 6-episode OVA version of Origin is more enjoyable as the story was paced as six volumes of the manga. You can watch it either before or after 0079 but if you are planning to watch it anyway I'd start with 0079 to avoid spoiling some twists. You can also watch the movie trilogy...
The Owarimonogatari novel was published in three volumes (each of which takes place at a different point of the timeline and focuses on different characters). The Owarimonogatari anime was divided into two seasons, the first (12/13 episodes depending on whether you consider Ougi Formula to be...
Thank you for your responses, it still smells extremely fishy to me but I see the point, don't want to derail the conversation.
Actually I wonder what would have happened if AL had snuck English tracks in some of the exclusive French releases, like Cat's Eye or Cobra (and had secured the UK...
I have never lived in Britain, but isn't giving the BBFC the ability to either force cuts or even outright refuse to rate media kind of state-enforced censorship? In Spain it has some very strong political connotations...
That artbook looks a bit barebones when compared to other Dybex A4 releases, I've seen the Nadia and the Steins;Gate ones and they were absolutely amazing, especially the Nadia one
I just got a notification that the two items on my Christmas sale order which were awaiting reprints (Gundam 0079 Part 2, Outlaw Star) have shipped. The rest of the items still haven't, though, which is most unusual.
Yeah, I suggest you grab the US set because the two MVM sets are incomplete (you should watch the unreleased TV series before the second OVA) and only the first OVA is available on Blu-ray, but it's out of print.
I had all my UK Amazon preorders cancelled recently (Turn-A Part 1, Doctor Who Season 8), and from what I gather this doesn't seem to be a unique occurrence, as several people have complained about this. I hope the cancellations only apply to orders from 2020 and not new ones.
My guess is they might do a Nise + Neko Black set as that has been released in Japan, maybe they could also do a separate collectors edition of Bake. There might be a Final Season set if they do one in Japan (which I hope they do because I want a standalone soundtrack release)
