Seriously were these people surprised they got arrested? They are scanning in manga in Japanese, in Japan... seems a pretty stupid thing to do to me.

    Thinpaks: A good thing?

Thinpaks are good, cheap and fairly nice looking, and allow me to get series I wasnt interested in so much or rich enough to buy the singles of fairly cheaply.

    Sony license Blood+

I think Sony's current backcatalouge of anime license include Steamboy aswell as the ones mentioned on ANN (Metropolis, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, Astro Boy 2003). As for Blood+ I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the show, it certainly had its moments but by around episode 8 or so I was...

MVM announce their May DVD releases

Considering Tenjho Tenge is 8 discs long (I have the first four R1's already) im not really surprised it hasn't got an artbox stores just wouldnt want one that big on shelves when the market here is so small. MVM could of course surprise us and release it on less discs though.

Dragonball \ DBZ - deserving of respect?

Dragonball Z actually put me off anime for an extended period of time. When I first came across it flicking through channels on Sky it seemed so ugly, dull and simplistic that I turned it off in disgust. I was later told by a freind that this was anime, and I (admitedly foolishly) made the...

    Best genre for games

To be fair all I can remember about Myst is randomely clicking the screen and wondering what was going ok, so perhaps that is where my low opinion comes from. I've never been good at adventure games!

    Best genre for games

Chipping in a bit late here, best game genre is RPG of course!. On the subject of Myst, I think with the exception of the Sims its one of the biggest selling PC games ever. Id call it an "adventure" game and imho its one of the crappest ones in exsistance.

Spirited Away & Ghibli: overrated rubbish?

Hmm my view on Ghibli is a mixed one. I love Princess Mononoke and KiKi's Delievery Service for example, but a lot of their other titles leave me rather cold. Spirited Away while being marginally entertaining certainly is not a fantastic anime, its pretty much a simple fantasy film with a plot...
