On their new website they seemingly do not. I wasn't charged tax/VAT on my August pre-orders to the UK - only the cost of the items + weighted shipping. Which was around 114GBP total.

I've been through the checkout again trying to get it to bring up any kind of tax/VAT charge with my UK address, but it doesn't. So I was wondering whether to expect this charge when it arrives in the UK.

Mein apologies, I was mixing up shipping with VAT: you're correct, my most recent order - after the new website change - did indeedly not charge the 20% tax. Was misremembering before the website change.

Have ordered since and received no fees, UK side. $173, £127, no problemo. Pretty sure most sites charge the 20% to cover all bases legally. If under £130, should be safe regardless. If over, gonna get caught come what may.

Just got my shipping notification for Monster and Digimon Tamers. If it gets through customs without no extra charges like others have experienced, then that's very sneaky skipping out on the 20% VAT charge

I like the cover they now have for Vampire Princess Miyu:

I like everything except for that font used for the title and tagline on the back, which I think is ugly and very amateurish looking and spoils the whole thing for me. The script font AnimEigo used 25 years ago for the DVD with a similar cover was far better.

Tbf they're Discotek not AnimEigo. This will show up here at some stage, more likely to be AL than MVM considering it's 4K.

Upon request the owner of Anime Sugoi confirmed that he'll be releasing it in Germany in very early 2027. There might(!) be also a very special extra in Germany.
But it will be a region free disc anyway^^
