What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

I received two ecchi anime titles in the mail, one on 4/23 from eBay, and one yesterday 4/27 from Sentai:

High School DxD Hero Season 4 (Region B)
To Love Ru Complete Series Seasons 1-4

I never bothered to buy Funimation's Limited Edition set of DxD Hero to match the first three LE sets I own of the series, due to the animation change and the not so great reviews it got. I could kick myself now though, seeing the prices even the US Standard Edition is going for now. I figured I may as well get some sort of Blu-ray copy of it, and the Region B Manga UK release is about the only affordable version available any more. Sigh.

And, it looks like I got lucky on the To Love Ru Complete Series Seasons 1-4 set - I had held off getting it for years because I didn't think it was anything I would care for. But, I finally picked up a copy during the last Sentai Sale, because I saw the listing was showing only 18 copies left. After receiving it yesterday I noticed that it is now listed as No Longer Available on Sentai's site, and is pretty much OOP everywhere now, so it's good I didn't wait any longer to grab a copy!

I got To Love Ru last year because I had never watched it and I thought £65 was value for the episode count. Because of certain circumstances, it ended up costing me nothing.
However, I think I must have grown out of the type as I quickly dropped it.
It still gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know I own it, more so after your post.👻

It's not the worst, but only because the Amstrad GX4000 exists...or briefly existed.

Haha, I've never seen that one, but the idea made me think about other actual terrible controllers.

Atari had a lot of them. The Jaguar controller was a bad design. The Atari 2600 joysticks were horrible, and I fully believe are what initially caused my carpal tunnel syndrome. I remember the Panasonic 3DO controller having a really bad d-pad and overall feeling cheap.

I didn't bother with the giant omnibus collection of ToLuvRu because I'd already gotten the non-dubbed single season bd releases and it wasn't worth the money or time to replace them with the giant dubbed set.
Cheapest listing I could find-https://www.ebay.com/itm/187411076453? Stupid ebay!! Anyway the asking price was $80.

I cancelled the zavvi pre of the standard version of Winston and this one instead and got an email from zavvi confirming cancellation and an apology that thay could not fulfil my order even though i already had confirmation of cancellation on the day and I think zavvi over sold the pre orders of the Winston figure..

As I am really enjoying Ancient Magus Bride S1, I thought I'd sort out S2.
I wanted to spend a tenner on the DVDs but as the Blu-ray has extras that might be interesting, I went with them.

I'm looking forward to the change in setting.

I ordered some more soundtracks because its still cheaper to buy physical CDs than purchased a lot of digital music - Lupin The 3rd Official Soundtrack 3, Jigen's Gravestone and Armored Core: For Answer.

Precarious Woman Executive Miss General Black Volumes 9-12: one more to go. I’m worried about Seven Seas after they were acquired by a larger firm, so I better snap up the rest of the series while it’s available on Blackwells. I like General Black for its design but the comedy is hit and miss.

I want to be more aware of comic art across the world so I got four new graphic novels. The Magnificent Adventure by Milo Manara, Corto Maltese by Huge Prat, Petra Chèrie by Attilio Micheluzzi and Worlds within the World by Julia Gfrörer. Julia Gfrorer is an American artist and she put out this collection recently. Micheluzzi, Prat and Manara are all Italian.

The Danganronpa Aniverseey Standee. This was made to celebrate the franchise’s 15th anniversary featuring art by ORIHARA. You’ll probably recognise her as the illustrator for popular singer Ado. They did their best to make this collection to dweebs look classy (love you Hajima).Screenshot 2026-05-02 at 16.55.10.png

On the topic of class, I got this second hand printing of a bit of Monkey Punch art through ZenMarket.Screenshot 2026-05-02 at 16.55.04.pngYou have an exotic location, a dangerous Fujiko and pointed shoes strolling confidently through the undergrowth which means Lupin is on the prowl. I’m going to have to make tough choices about my decorations but that’s just part of the fun right now.

April Haul #5

Work overload this past week and I did receive one final package before the month was over (on the 24th in fact).

Anime Limited Spring Sale Haul 1.jpg

#9: Anime Limited Spring Sale Haul
Anime Limited ran their annual Easter sale and I decided to acquire a couple of standard edition Blu-rays for once. The collector’s edition model is becoming more oversaturated in terms of content and quality so I’m leaning more towards the cheaper versions here and there. These were from their Buy One Get One Free sale.

Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen is a short anime series that aired between 2018 & 2021 by studio IMAGICA Lab (Natsunagu!). This was released thanks to a sub-licensing package deal with Crunchyroll but never received a collector’s set and there’s no English dub so it’s a simple release.

Devil Survivor 2 the Animation, 2013 anime series by studio Bridge (Talentless Nana) that was based on the 2011 Shin Megami Tensei spin-off Nintendo DS game Devil Survivor 2. Sentai Filmworks released this a decade back and so did MVM, but Anime Limited rescued the license but the discs were never updated (MVM did use Hanabee’s instead of Sentai’s though). There is a collector’s edition but due to the old discs I opted for the standard edition instead.

Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, the first season released in 2019 by Bandai Namco Pictures (Rock Is a Lady’s Modesty) is a really fun fantasy isekai series which continues to receive multiple seasons to this current point. This was one of the Crunchyroll titles that was sub-licensed to Anime Limited and Sentai Filmworks, though the later seasons were handled by Crunchyroll directly.

And last but not least is the 2003 original anime series Wolf’s Rain by studio Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist). There was an ultimate edition of this series years ago but I never got my hands on it. It’s one of the classic titles that Funimation did rescue from Bandai Entertainment and so did Anime Limited. This release also includes the 4 OVA episodes that conclude the story.

May Haul #1

New month. New items. Just one which arrived today.

Summer Wars 4K - 09.jpg

#1: Summer Wars
Anime Limited's second Mamoru Hosoda deluxe edition release has arrived earlier than its expected release date but Summer Wars is a really fun film. It's a shame that the deluxe edition doesn't live up to its name and I'm probably going to get rid of both this and Wolf Children's sets at some point. I may get The Girl Who Leapt Through Time just for completion and then replace them with different versions/editions.

Either way you can view more photos & specs on my blog.
