What did you BUY today?

Got a copy of the Kiddy Girl-And bluray set for $32 from a vendor in the dealer room at the anime convention I attended today. And the second disc in the set has !@#%*%#@! 10 second video glitches in 2 episodes.

Finally brought two things I think I've been needing for a long time.

Firstly, a digital music player that is separate from my phone. So I can listen to music without getting distracted and save my phone's battery life. It'll take some time to set that up but we'll get there. Secondly, I now have a year long membership on Wordpress. Taking some inspiration other members and their excellent pages and blogs. Hopefully I'll make something interesting.

I received an email about a month ago from Netgear stating my current Wi-fi 6 Router is at it's End of Life, with no further firmware updates. So, I decided to get a new Wi-fi 7 router with five 2.5 Gb ports to replace it - especially since my home was recently upgraded to 2Gb fiber internet service and my primary PC has a 2.5gb NIC currently hooked up directly to the old Netgear router with only 1 Gb ports, so it is currently being throttled. I'll be able to do downloads with full bandwidth available now.

GL.iNet GL-BE6500 (Flint 3e) WiFi 7 Router, High-Speed WiFi Router for Wireless Internet w/VPN, 5 x 2.5G Ethernet Port for Fiber Optic Modem, Long Range Large Home, Business & Gaming Computer Routers

I have got to stop looking at uk releases because I saw Fairy Gone for $22 including s&h I ordered it without hesitation. I'd watched the series a few years ago and enjoyed it. They sent me an email asking if I knew it was region B which was nice of them but since I have several region free bd players, no problem.

I have a region free bluray player that I got 9 years ago in storage that I'd only used about 10 hours in total. I took it out yesterday and hooked it up, put a disc in it. It spun the disc for 5 seconds, then stopped and nodisc flashed on the display. I tried a dvd, a cd and a bluray-same result. I took the case off and checked for loose connections on the optical drive, main circuit board, tried cleaning the laser lens. At that point I was quite pissed and since it was a cheap player decided to buy a new one and call it a loss. I hope the new one lasts longer than that one. All my other bluray and dvd players are name brand-Sony, Panasonic, Samsung and Oppo-I've never had any problems with any of them, the one that died was a cheap off brand like ones you can find tons of on amazon, alibaba etc. Caveat Emptor
