This is a re-watch from somewhere between my 2 stints here. Searching the forum it was on Film4 at one point, so that's probably where I watched.
I only remembered the bare bones of the plot ie street urchins doing street urchin things, as it gets weirder and weirder I did recall that weirdness, especially at the end. It's probably got some message that's beyond me apart from the Ying and Yang of the main characters relationship, although that is pretty well signposted. I didn't particularly like that they seemed to have super abilities and the same with the bad guys goons. The more human side characters were more interesting.
The art and animation was great apart from the character designs and the backgrounds didn't seem to be from the same film (the mangaka also did Ping Pong and that adaptation kept the 2 relatively similar). But the melding of the 2d and 3d did work really well.

Frieren or Die Hard S2 ep2-7

The second season has been quite a gentle affair so far, so it came as a bit of a surprise to see how good the animation was when they got back to doing action again. Sudden reminder that this is, in fact, by Mad House.

BanG Dream! It’s MyGo!! Ep1-3

Not exactly my usual wheelhouse, but I was curious to see the source material after characters from this series popped up as playable operators for a crossover event in Arknights. I’m not sure I’ll watch it in its entirety, but I thought it was surprisingly engaging. There was a bit of the classic shoujo school drama about it, as a newcomer struggles to piece together the story behind a popular band’s mysterious break up. The third episode being framed entirely from a first person perspective is a nice touch.

Vermeil in Gold ep1

Well, sometimes the only way to know if the dumpster is on fire is to climb inside it. The basic premise of ‘weedy kid at magician school accidentally summons hot demon mommy as his familiar’ isn’t inherently terrible, but I found it more cringeworthy than funny and the art is a bit plain. I was mildly interested to know what Vermeil’s Tragic Backstory™️ was, but probably not enough to sit through the required amount of show to find out.
