UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

You claim they're "coporate/soulless" yet talk like they aren't comprised of humans and shouldn't be given grace, especially during stressful seasons like the holidays. If they were as you accuse, they wouldn't even bother entertaining places like this but Hanners is quite active to keep people informed. It was revealed that the company went through a hard time before the sale with multiple individuals falling ill thus interrupting services. If you aren't able to extend goodwill in such a situation then I'd argue you're a hypocrite that is far more corporate/soulless.
You missed the sign on the front of the door. Don't feed Aion after midnight, don't get Aion wet, and keep Aion away from bright light.

Ah, a man of culture. I did chuckle once the reference clicked. Personally though, I would go with this reference instead:

Just for the record: I confess to being soulless - I am after all an atheist - and 'tis human nature to be hypocritical; turning a blind eye to one's inherent selfishness as readily as one is selfless.
But I have no problem with Hanners: always courteous in emails. He's good people. And unexpected delays over xmas for pre-orders cannot be helped. He has been hung out to dry, and I'd much rather Andrew be here. Alas...

Common sense would've informed the higher ups at AL that so many pre-orders, during the one month a year a huge sale is on and post stops, is a recipe for disaster (for their unwitting customers, not them). Which is made all the more irksome when no new pre-orders were added during the sale, supposedly to mitigate xmas sale cockery. 'Twas doomed to happen, and Nostradamus was not required to forsee. Push preorders back to Nov or forward to Jan in advance.

With that said, I am going bid you all ajew for now, lest Roy 💅⛓️. Unless any shipping updates, that is, which I doubt. Farewell~

Has AL announced a standard version for the Macross Plus movie / OVA as I don't really want to pay £150 for special edition, think I'll just have to get the DVD for now

Yes, they are apparently printed and will be up soon although given their headaches with some other releases having production issues, the shipping backlog and I presume a slate of newer titles (Her Blue Sky!) that will need to go up for pre-order I can imagine it might be a few weeks into next year before we hear more.

Oh awesome, I'll just wait for that then :)

Just to add to Sirijo's response, it's only the Macross Plus Movie Edition that will be available as a standard edition. The OVAs are AFAIK exclusive to the Ultimate Edition release (& Collector's Edition for French owners).

Oh really, that's annoying, that's the version I was hoping to watch. I get why they would do it, but it's infuriating that they are going to be stuck behind a massive pay wall.

I think I'll get the DVD now for then as that has both versions.

Speaking of delays, I just received the following email from ATA:

We hope this message finds you well.

We are writing to you regarding your order of NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Collector's Edition Set 1, as we have been advised that a delay with disc authoring and production for this release coupled with the festive break period means that regrettably stock won't be ready in time to hit our originally scheduled release date.

As a result of this, we are moving the release date of this product to Monday 23rd February to allow time for arrival and shipment. Your order will be shipped on or prior to this date, as soon as stock arrives with us at our warehouse.

Please accept our apologies for the delay to production and shipping of this item.

If you need to update your shipping details in light of this update, or require any other assistance with your order, please let us know by replying to this message.

I got that email too. I'm glad to hear it from them directly, hopefully it means they've taken the complaints about no word on delays to heart with this.
