Overseas The Aniplex Thread

When I heard Aniplex was doing a panel last night I figured it was time for them to reveal some new home video releases, and they did.

First up, Darwin's Game as a 'Complete Series Blu-ray Set' for 16th March 2021. SRP $149.98 and Rightstuf Price at $119.98, this box set contains all 11 episodes with a special booklet. Audio includes English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. On-disc extras include Web Previews and Textless OP/ED Songs.

Next, is Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia with 'Limited Edition Blu-ray Box Set I' for 30th March 2021. SRP $149.98 and Rightstuf price at $119.98, the first box set covers episodes 0 to 11 with a special booklet. Audio includes English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. On-disc extras include Recaps I & II, PV & CMs, Web Previews and Textless OP/ED Songs.

Plus, we also have Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia with 'Limited Edition Blu-ray Box Set II' for 29th June 2021. SRP $124.98 and Rightstuf price at $99.98, the second box set covers episodes 12 to 21 with a special booklet. Audio includes English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. Last but not least (perhaps), is Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story with 'Limited Edition Volume 1' (the volume note is because there's a second season coming soon) for 16th March 2021. SRP $159.98 and Rightstuf price at $129.98, this box set contains all 13 episodes with a special booklet and original soundtrack CD composed by Takumi Ozawa. Audio includes English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. On-disc extras include Animated Magia Report Commercials, Trailers & Commercials, and Textless OP/ED Songs.

On another note, I have been updating the first post recently which is still being worked on.
 
FGO (as I can’t trust MVM after they skipped Fate extra) and Magica record as much as I hate I need my Madoka collection complete for BDs and I’d rather AoA than Manga at least one released a BL
 
I'm only going to focus on Fate/Grand Order for this batch. Magia Record I'm fine with a regular release via Manga or through Anime Limited.
 
Skip Meguka, might grab FGO. I been wondering is it worth going rightstuf over a seller like UP1 because when you factor in import vat and customs the price is more or less SRP anyway.

Rightstuf prices don't include shipping and customs.
UP1 prices don't include shipping but do cover customs.

Essentially at the moment it's cheaper to go with UP1, unless the 2021 VAT system gets rid of the handling fees business.

I pre-ordered the two FGO DFB Parts 1 and 2 from Rightsuf back before Thanksgiving, the day they went up on their site. I keep hearing rumblings about Puella Side Story not being very good? I'll need to find that one to stream a few episodes. I'll still probably pick up the Blu-ray eventually, just to keep that series complete in my Aniplex collection. I really love the 3 AoA box sets of the original series; even though the boxes are not chipboard, they have a unique, rubbery finish to them, somewhat different than that velvety matte finish you get on some JP Box sets that I also love so much.

I actually got lucky with Magi, I ordered both AoA Blu-ray sets during the Black Friday week Sale, the same day I ordered FGO, after holding off for years with getting them, and now I see Part 1 is OOP. I previously had picked up the four Kaze UK releases 2-3 years ago, so I had not been in any hurry to double-dip on the AoA sets, but it's a good thing I finally caved when they were on sale.

I'm currently watching The Irregular at Magic High School Visitor Arc and it is really good, I think I like it better than the original series. I'll be looking forward to that one getting a Blu-ray release to add to the original series sets.
 
Nice set, pity it's a cash in show based on a failed mobile game.

Although I'm one to talk a an FGO player waiting to see what's inside of those giant boxes lol.
 
Two mini-updates.

The first is that packaging artwork has been fully revealed for Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia Box Set I, which keeps the broken English for Absolute as "Absoulte". The style of the set is basically similar to Anohana for those curious.

The second is that Funimation have chosen to simuldub two of Aniplex of America's titles Horimiya and SK8 the Infinity.

I've added a price comparison table onto the second post of the thread, basically showing the difference between Rightstuf and United Publications from here on. The table includes FedEx shipping, VAT duty shown from TRSI's calculator as well as postage for UP1. The conversion rate is based on $1 = 71.6p as of 20th February.

I got my Bake set from Rightstuf which exceeded £135 and had no issues if that is any help.
