AOTS (Anime of the Season) A:UK Edition

I'll add a vote for Orb, just finished watching that last week and it was excellent. Quite the compelling discourse in science and religion, without them being mutually exclusive, and passing knowledge and progress forwards to future generations. An exceptional anime with arguably the best...

What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

I didn't know it had two dubs (and why? Different publishers I'm presuming) but if they're good I don't mind watching with those next time heh

What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

Oooh top tip, which I must have missed in the previous posts. His background art has been stunning from the very beginning I think (not character art though, so I'm very glad he outsources that now😅). It's reduced on Amazon currently so I shall be getting that too! Thanks for the info peeps! I...

    Gacha Games Thread

My thoughts exactly, I do enjoy action RPGs but only on the consoles with a good controller - they're not optimized for playing on phones and tablets and seeing as I mostly play on my phone nowadays, that rules them out. I'm still enjoying FGO, the lostbelt 7 story was pretty good and they...

    Gacha Games Thread

I was getting increasingly worried reading that until I got to the action RPG bit: if it's not turn based then I can resist the temptation! I did love the Danganronpa games though, so if there is a console version I would definitely get that and not be tempted by the gacha-iness... Or so I hope...

    Gacha Games Thread

Looking at that art style I'm guessing this is from the Danganronpa creators - is it along a similar vein but gacha? I dread to ask as I can't add another one after HBR. I am getting a bit fed up with HSR's powercreep, all the characters you spend ages building up to think you have a solid...

Magical girl retrospective - simulwatch starts 1st Feb 2025

Heheh very apt points on Lain and very in keeping with the Arthur C Clarke line, if I recall correctly, along the lines of how anything sufficiently advanced will be perceived as magic to prehistoric civilisations! Lain is one of those shows that is so incredibly prescient, I guess like works of...

Magical girl retrospective - simulwatch starts 1st Feb 2025

Pah, that's nothing, I'm just waiting for Magical Experiments Lain! Off the back of the simulwatch, I've now finished Raising magical girl project and fully agree with @Dai on his summary. Descended into death match with focus on girls (about to meet their maker) of the week, with the...

UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

Never watched this, but now my interest is piqued that so many people would be devastated at the thought of not having Oreimo in their lives

What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

I'll second that and I got this myself as I loved the music and don't recall seeing it packaged with any of the movie editions. Fortunately WWY had the soundtrack with some movie editions and I think I preferred that and also felt the lyrics were better in that. Note to self: Am reminded now...

    What Games Are You Playing?

I'm definitely in the camp that adored chrono cross back when I played it on the ps one. Do remember it's gameplay being quite different but, if I recall correctly, once you get the hang of it it is quite rewarding. If you like a strong story and narrative then definitely try to stick with it...
