I thought it would be a kick in the teeth to not release this for fans the world over who couldn't attend, so I was being optimistic in assuming they eventually would in some way, shape, or form, but if this means they did so earlier then all the better for it heh
Interesting thought and I love the MGS games, but I suspect that given Kojima's penchant for proselytising it could end up losing itself in an excess of monologue and become really dry. Kind of like Babylon, which had an excellent first half and an intolerable second half.
My first impression on reading this news was that it's a bit too early for April Fool's. Eva is my favourite anime and Nier automata my favourite video game, though that doesn't necessarily mean I would want them mashed together heh.
Anno did leave to the franchise open to others to work on so...
Ouch, yes that is definitely not cheap heh. Think I'll have to keep an eye out to get lucky with a good deal at some point or just fork out if I can convince myself to heh. Thanks for the info
I have really loved Oshi no Ko, Orb: the movements of the earth, the mononoke movies, frieren and cyber punk edge runners for a bit of variety amongst recent releases.
That's all good, different strokes for different folks after all. I definitely excitedly celebrate any event which could potentially result in time off work 😅
Now that family have all gone to bed I'm about to resume my Christmas Toradora rewatch with a strong cup of tea and some leftover chocolate chip panettone from Morrisons (they're really good!).
I've only received some AL pre-orders this month (perfect blue and devilman crybaby, but not dangers in my heart) with my outstanding Christmas sale orders being 8 items on 5/12 and 4 on 11/12 with there being a difference of 1776 between the order numbers.
Edit: didn't order from AoL this...
Yeah I remember everything relating to him just sort of dropping off near the end. An incomplete manga at the time explains why. Thanks for the heads up on this, will try and combine the rewatch with the manga as suggested.
I love that anime too and was very glad to eventually get it, during a previous AL Christmas sale no less😅, though I didn't know about the manga differing at the end. Now I'll need to read that for sure.
Also second the great score and op/ed (especially the ed) for that.

My favourite contemporary Japanese director doing a live adaptation of a recent favourite anime from a favourite one shot manga? Happy days.
