What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

Sir, do not question my speed-reading abilities :P

Now it all makes sense; all those likes vs all that text. 🤯

....Madam, I am afraid I will have to question thine skim-reading, as 'tis a talent I share. Truly, whoooo has time for long posts?~ The problem is, when one reads that fast, some things are inevitably missed. These things later lead to arguments.

Thus, I shalt test you, based on Girly-dono's post (you are NOT allowed to re-read): can a SL6 "clam-shell" table fuction upside down?

If you are unable to answer this, I am afraid you will not be able to like any post for a week.

OK so my answer would have been that I remembered the turntable he talked about could function upside down... but I went back to reread after and it was an SL7 lol, did you deliberately put the number down wrong or?

Also you're not the boss of me :P

Haha, Ok - when I was in 8th and 9th grade the school offered a speed reading course that I took both years. They had speed reading projectors that projected scrolling lines of text on a screen, with a sliding window that moved across the text, showing only one or two words at a time. You could adjust that aperture speed up or down to a speed you could comfortably handle. You had to take a little 10 question test after reading each short story to see how much you comprehended. I got to the point where I was able to max out the projectors speed, which was I think 700 words per minute. This turned out to be perfect training for me to read subtitles, so it takes me little effort to read multiple lines of subtitles on the screen and still have plenty of time to view what's going on in the video. That training has really contributed in making me a sub-only anime viewer. 🙂

Ive seen bits and pieces of this over the years but never the whole OAV. And ive heard its fully uncensored compared to previous releases and that includes Discoteks original DVD release.......people often say something like Urotsukidoji is the most extreme anime can get in terms of violence/sexual content so im wondering where this falls in that debate

The bbfc made a lot of cuts to violence Jack even now it never be passed uncut.

The original US releases was cut by a lot - and the second VHS release, still with Mosaics, resulted in the creation of a new publishing company (Critical Mass) that became the 2nd largest Hen*ai company in the US

Forgot pre-ordered this, as I tend to occasionally look on Amazon to 👀 if any old good 'uns coming out on 4k/steelbooks. Didn't realise comes with a slipcover/booklet, ofc.

Whilst not the greatest film ever made, 'tis one of the better 'ugly vampire'/survival flicks: out in the middle of nowhere Alaska, for a whole month there's going to be total darkness 24/7 and a communication blackout for the residents of a small town... only for a pack of vampires to decide 'tis the perfect feeding tiem.

Also received a (too hard, and wool so proving too hot) mattress. I'll spare you from photos of that. Be thankful.

...Truly, you think so little of meeee that you'd ask if I knowingly used such underhanded tactics as giving you incorrect intel; after asking you a question like that and telling you not to check!? I told youuuu: I share thine talent for skim-reading, and I remember glancing at Girly-dono's post (and ignoring Ceefax's) like it was yesterday: he was explaining how his table is designed like a clam, so ergo it could function upside down as well as upright; opening up for special occasions with his drinking buddy. In fairness to you, It did strike me as odd that this SL6 table has no legs and would be ground level but such artiste designs are outside of my area of expertise~

And, Madam, you would be mistaken, for I am the boss of AUKN and thus everyone on 'ere. I was here before ya'll, even if I won't be here after ya'll. Y'see, I work from the shadows but given my long ban history with Rui (and sending him to Japan to buy shoujo manga for meeee), one belated PM reply and your likings would be suspended. That you would continue liking my posts after my 7-day warning I can only view as an act of open aggression. I shalt prove it to you: you will (not) be able to like this post. 👎

After the recent announcement from Sony I've decided to buy a bunch of physical games. A few more games will arrive in the next few days 👍

I started doing that too. I generally keep up with releases especially as I buy a lot of imports, but had a number where I was just using the digital upgrade thing for PS5 versions of games I bought for PS4, and decided to buy the PS5 physical versions for any where I thought that there's some notable improvement, while I still can do so without hassle or having to go to ebay. I try to recheck now and then to see if I found something else I want but I think I have everything I want for PS4. I have 9 of your 16 either here or on the way.

Is there a reason you chose to get the original version of Granblue Fantasy Relink over the new Endless Ragnarok version?

I feel so dumb buying Digital Relink Endless Ragnarok upgrade 3 days before the tragic Sony news.☠️😭

Oh well, I may eventually grab Endless Rangarok Physical soon as long it's in print

I also decided to buy more physical PS5 games ever since Sony announced that unfortunate news.

I'm a bit surprised to see people doubling down on physical releases after the announcement. On the one hand it makes sense to have copies that aren't tied to a PSN account, especially with all the things that can cause people to lose access to their DRM-infested digital collections. On the other hand, PS6 not having a disc drive means all those physical games will only be playable for as long as your PS5's drive lasts. Now, I still have consoles all the way back to PS1 that I've kept maintaining and repairing over the decades, but optical drives aren't made to last any more, and modern consoles are far more difficult (maybe impossible in some cases) for the end user to repair.

It's an infuriating game of mental ping-pong that's been going back and forth inside my head for years, and there's no easy answer because (on a long enough timeline) both options ultimately suck.

It's ok bruh I get cranky when my mattress is rubbish too... frens? (Also sorry I never replied to your last PM, spent weeks mulling over what to say in response to all the interesting points you raised... then didn't actually end up finishing and sending a message in the end) 😭🤔🔥🥰👍

Never a dull moment with you guys around, I have absolutely no idea what this SLR table you guys are on about is (and no @Girls with Guns, this is not an invitation to enlighten me!)...
You should definitely attain enlightenment, it is quite good for the soul... 😇

So here is my SL7 turntable, along with my Hitachi DA-5000 CD player from 1983, fresh out of storage, all dusty and musty yet. I want to be able to play anime soundtrack LPs like the Noir and Apothecary Diaries albums I just bought. I'm sure the SL7 will need a good internal cleaning and re-lubing, a replacement drive belt for the tone arm, and maybe a re-capping - I've been watching some restoration videos on YouTube. So Geriatric, you have now become enlightened, or of some such similar disposition... 😜
