Applies to all non EU packages to EU countries from July 1st because the EU are being dicks. For my Irish lads here importing from sites without ioss now under 150€ that used to be customs expect will now lead to a 3€ charge per item this is going to get mad expensive very quickly so be careful when ordering from AL / MVM direct from now on
10€ to get 1 item from UK before VAT etc is added is criminal like wtfApplies to all non EU packages to EU countries from July 1st because the EU are being dicks.
This is the EU penalizing it's citizens for buying from Ali/Shien/Temu instead of from local stores. So glad my country is now penalising others through the stupidity of Brexit.
So proud...
Issue is U.K. is Irelands local store cos every big company pissed off over to the U.K. abandoning Ireland retail, if there was some agreement between Ireland and U.K. it wouldn’t be too bad but now we getting screwedThis is the EU penalizing it's citizens for buying from Ali/Shien/Temu instead of from local stores.
It is. The EB for the Perfect Blue 4K ex VAT was £41.66(~€48.45) plus £3.50(~€4.07) shipping if you don't get anything else to bring it over £50, works out at £37.50(~€43.60) plus shipping if you have Unlimited. VAT and customs clearance works out around €18, €21 now with the new bs. So overall cost on the EB to here including shipping with the new charge is ~€74.65 without Unlimited or ~€68.70 with.Issue is U.K. is Irelands local store cos every big company pissed off over to the U.K. abandoning Ireland retail, if there was some agreement between Ireland and U.K. it wouldn’t be too bad but now we getting screwed
I don’t think it’s even a deal anymore to buy the early bird on AL which is sad
Hasn't Trumpy done something similar in America to try and fight back against cheap mass produced chinese fast fashion which has hit @Girls with Guns ?This is the EU penalizing it's citizens for buying from Ali/Shien/Temu instead of from local stores.
No that was is "beautiful" tariffs, which have now been deemed illegal.Hasn't Trumpy done something similar in America to try and fight back against cheap mass produced chinese fast fashion which has hit @Girls with Guns ?
Yeah, My 18+ figures from Japan are still getting hit with tariffs and handling fees from DHL and Fedex - this adds about $100-$150 to the price of a figure, on top of the normal purchase price plus EMS shipping, which is no longer available to us here. So instead of paying $175-$200 for a figure, I'm now paying $300-$350. Yay.
To clarify here:No that was is "beautiful" tariffs, which have now been deemed illegal.
My last sale order had a 53€ UPS handling fee with vat added afterTo clarify here:
EU charges VAT for packages send from abroad. But VAT is the same that a similar item would have if sold by a local company at the same price. Most products are tariff free and there is currently also an exception for packages under €150.
However they plan to add a flat tariff for small packages with about €3 per item-category, so e. g. 5 Blu-rays & 2 DVDs would still be €3 tariff because they are in the same category.
USA however had rates with like $80 per parcel, with courier handling fees on top
The EU law is, from my point of view, still fair because the overseas seller is allowed to (and usually does) remove the local VAT / sales tax of his own country, which is roughly the same amount.
The thing that really bothers is, that despite clear declaration most parcel services add handling fees, that can be way higher than the actual VAT & tariffs.
e. g. ordering a sale Blu-ray from MVM priced at 7.99 would cause about €2.10 in VAT, but another €7.50 in DHL handling fees.
So please do introduce IOSS to get all of us EU folks rid of these insane handling fees
