UK Anime Christmas Sales for 2025 [Anime Ltd's 12 Days of Xmas + More]

I meant about the €150 limit on customs duty, which the EU are removing in July, VAT is unavoidable.

Unfortunately the removal of that customs threshold will be adding a flat €3 charge when implemented until they rework it in 2 years time.
Found it: Additional custom fees

Oh right, that flat rate BS......fun.....

Regardless, the clearance fees should not be this high, 10–16 bucks is a lot per package.
Just give me the forms, I'll gladly fill them out. I know, it's not possible.

I think the ball is in All the Animes court. A lot of this dissatisfaction and unnecessary charges can be avoided by implementing IOSS. With the amount of orders they seem to have, this shouldn't be a big financial burden on them and would ease the pain for EU customers who have to pay a fee of around 20 EUR or more for any order they place with them due to handling charges by UPS/DHL/FedEx.

But seeing that IOSS has been a thing for a while now I'm not hopeful anything will change unfortunately.

And sorry to anyone from the UK who probably are sick and tired of hearing us moan about IOSS and extra charges. :)

I hope they will implement it, but don't see it happening.

The issue probably isn't just a straight up financial cost, businesses don't pay VAT, customers do, so I assume the main issue is the impact on administration. Can their website handle IOSS as is? What about their financial accounts/shipping systems? How much more work/training would it mean for staff? It really might not be as simple as choosing an option.

I've had a few places that no longer ship to the UK because they don't want to handle the added work of capturing and paying HMRC VAT for stuff under £135 so I'm not shocked ATA might not have rushed to implement IOSS even if it's not exactly new.

Still no movement on my order after having abandoned TPN.

For the website thing: As far as I know they use a platform/backend that should be able to handle VAT topics based on countries (at least I do think I remember shopping at other stores with the same backend that did offer IOSS).

I've seen smaller shops that handle IOSS perfectly fine. So I think for the size that they are they should be able to offer it.
But yes, it probably comes with some costs (e.g. IOSS itself, internal training and so on) but as I said before I also don't know how big their EU customer base is (so it might just not be economical for them to do it for a small percent of their customer base).

Maybe someone from their team can shed some light on it why it isn't implemented or how big their EU customers base is compared to UK and the rest of the world (if they don't deem it a trade secret).

One problem might be, that some orders might exceed 150 €.

When Right Stuf still existed, they offered paying import duties upfront and they only added a 4% fee to the actual fee calculation.
(So if your country has 20 % VAT, Rightstuf charged 20.8 %, and they even applied reduced rates for books)

If it helps, one could (temporarely) international shipping for non-media products like clothing or merch to simplyfy the process - so everything would have the same customs code & vat-rate.

For orders over 150 EUR IOSS doesn't apply. In that case I think it is handled in 2 ways.
One option is to do it like All the Anime does for all their EU orders - everything paid by the customer after the sale including extra handling charges from the logistics companies.
Some stores (like boutique electronics stores) do offer delivered duty paid (DDP) options which works to the end consumer similarly as IOSS in the sense that everything is paid during the shopping process upfront.

no movement today on big orders.. another week down, waiting on christmas bundles still :(

Tim, if you wait much longer, April the 1st and Easter will be upon us! 🐰

I wonder, will AL finish before 🥚s, and who will have the last laugh if so?~

Personaly, I'm looking forward to the Easter sale. I'm sure Hanners is too as there will be less in the way of complicated orders.

I wonder if for easter they throwbus a bone and put up more Shonen or Gundam for sale. 😅

well, im sure i should receive the remaining orders this coming week.. id be surprised if i didnt since i think most of the heat should be off by now surely 😭 😭 😭 😭

Ah, the bright-eyed optimism of youth, still shining through tears of anguish, after all these months. I envy you, truly, Tim~

One would think, now even early orders are moving, that is true--that tomorrow is the day; that next week is the week. Logic suggests the backlog is no more, after 3months. BUTT NO! This is AL, and even Hanners' estimate for final orders of Feb 6 was two weeks ago!

T'would be pessimistic to half-jokingly suggest April the 1st, I confess. Still a good chance March will come, and then every day will inch you ever closer; closer to the day you question if you are the joke and AL the jester... 🤡

It is something that I want to revisit this year as a possibility - obviously at the moment there's a lot of other administrative matters with the change in ownership that take priority, but it's something I'm keen on implementing if possible. It's basically a lot of legal and admin shenanigans required to make it possible as much as anything else, but it's not forgotten on our side as an improvement we'd like to bring to fruition that's for sure.

If I could like a post twice, I would!
Please keep us updated on this if you can :).

Just got the shipping notification for my Christmas order, now I just need to wait to get reamed by UPS.
just paid 40 euro on my UPS order and to add icing on the cake was sent out to be delivered today just after 7 am...... then delayed 3 hours later while it was out for delivery ?????

second order is being sent royal mail. might take longer to here but once it clears customs it plain sailing on that one :)

hope you get your films and series soon.
