UK Anime Christmas Sales for 2025 [Anime Ltd's 12 Days of Xmas + More]

roughly 3700 order numbers more than order 1
Now that's interesting. I've never had an idea of how many sales AL rack up via their own web store. I'd assumed they might have received a few hundred orders during a Christmas sale, so to see it way up in the thousands is surprising.

Whilest it was kinda standard, that items included in the Mystery Boxes won't be on sale, that usually included other variants of the same anime as well.
However this year I see several CE/UE in the Mystery Boxes, with the Standard Editions included in the same sale as well - thus increasing the riscs for duplicates.

Guess I'd stick with my 2.99 Standard Edition and not try to hunt the UE

I would be curious to see a breakdown of the status of everyone's sales orders between All the Anime and Anime-on-Line. If I exclude orders that included unreleased pre-orders (since those wouldn't ship yet regardless), here's how it looks now that fulfilment centres are closed until next month

From Anime Limited

Order 1 - 17 items - Ordered 2nd of December - NOT SHIPPED
Order 2 - 2 items - Ordered 2nd of December - SHIPPED on 20th of December
Order 3 - 2 items - Ordered 3rd of December - SHIPPED Today
Order 4 - 3 items - Ordered 5th of December - SHIPPED today
Order 5 - 1 Item - Ordered 7th of December - NOT SHIPPED
Order 6 - 1 Item - Ordered 12th of December - NOT SHIPPED

Order 1 (technically cheating but this one annoys me more) - 3 items - Ordered September 10 - 2 instock items and Eizouken! Pre-order (IE the thing they said was a priority) - NOT SHIPPED

Order 2 - 14 items - Ordered 2nd of December - NOT SHIPPED

Order 3 - 3 items - Ordered 6th of December - NOT SHIPPED

I ordered 3 CEs, 2 Stocking Fillers and 2 BOGOF items at 00:27 on 2/12 that hasn't shipped. Not needed for Christmas but I'm warming up to the fact that it adds to the backlog and I don't really need the entire order 😆
All this backlog chatter on this forum, clearly people are not putting it in a visible (or visible enough) place (ideally under the telly!) so it's always staring back at you. Shaming you. 😂

With a bigger than expected order (I planned to buy nothing!), I have started my Xmas backlog early (last year it was Nadia, this year it is Evangelion. Yes I've never seen it, I'm a greenhorn still with my paltry 63.6 days watched) but I'm in danger of clearing the Pile of ShameTM before my order even ships!

There isn't a TV that big! I've been sorting my anime today, and I currently have 175 unwatched retail releases
When it comes to non anime, I have 36 retail releases to watch. But when you consider that one of them comprises the entire original Magnum PI series on Blu-ray, another the complete Farscape, it's not doable in 36 evenings.

A Yuen Biao movie was dispatched today from Rarewaves, I've got two anime on order, with two more I've got to order for next month, and that's before I get to the 20 I'm waiting for from this 12 Days sale.

Don't ask me about review check discs.

And in the past week, I've watched one backlog movie (harmonie, 25 minutes, not really a challenge), and I'm working my way through two series releases, around one or two episodes a night.

Give me five years without access to a credit card, and I'll have watched all of this.

just need to cut out sleep, thats 8 hours a day!

In my case, I would have much preferred if my order of 8 Collector Edition titles on 2nd December wouldn't have shipped yet, because I wanted to add another title to my order. I received an email from them on the morning of the 3rd, just after I left for work, telling me I would need to cancel and reorder to do that, and then they proceeded to ship my package 4 hours later while I was still at work, so it was already on it's way before I even had a chance to get home to see the email and do a re-order. :(

Personally I don't mind the wait as my backlog is massive. I still haven't even watched a fraction of what I got last year. And already incoming with new shows and films. Im likely tied up for next six months. That said though im going to have immense satisfaction seeing Gundam Universal Century finally on my shelf.

THIS IS MY RAGE!!!111!!!

...is what I'd like to say--apathy all got left fueling me. Well, aside from for Google making an order for 30+ items, after the bullet point argument against Re Zero S2, but I digress~

My deets are:

December 2, 2025 at 10:16 am || x4 BOGOFF || £69.98 || Result: Nein
December 2, 2025 at 10:33 am || 2 cheapo £4.99 CEs || Result: Ja
December 13, 2025 at 11:16 am || 7 items using 10% code || £143.04 || Result: Nein

Given the backlog, I don't expect my last order to ship until mid/late Jan, either. 'Tis grim.

Now that's interesting. I've never had an idea of how many sales AL rack up via their own web store. I'd assumed they might have received a few hundred orders during a Christmas sale, so to see it way up in the thousands is surprising.

Definitely well into the 1000s, as others order numbers indicate. Way more than I realised though, 'till my friend mentioned in passing and I checked: between my orders on the 2nd and the 13th, the gap is 4500. Which has me visualise a handful of staff 'merrily' tossing Million Lives/Ex Arms/PB into random boxes. Blue/red boxes, with a personalised touch, got lost amidst that chaos, seemingly~
In comparison, I don't think MVM get anywhere near the volume of orders AL do at xmas, and they avoided any such backlog, despite them generally just seeming more professional/efficient. Their mystery bundle was only for standard editions/clearance, as they have few CEs, correct? With Anime Limited the draw is cheap collector's editions--so much so that people abroad are attracted for stuff not available in their regions. Even AUKN suddenly becomes a hub for all things AL, with new members (or old users, that appear like the 👻 of xmas past~), such is the frenzy.

That said, 'tis poor form on AL to take on more than they could handle, and on top their customer service go on the holiday on the 18th vs MVM the 24th. Not a good look whichever way look at it. The something like 9-12 pre-orders for in demand items coinciding with the sale killed any hopes of fulfillment dead.
Honestly, most would have been better off waiting for a certain eBay reseller/scalper to list after xmas: they make offers for £10-20 off, and can combine with frequent 15-20% off eBay vouchers. Better pricing, and better service.

Well this is unprecedented. I usually wait two weeks for Rarewaves orders, but they obviously wanted me to have a Merry Christmas. The movie arrived this morning, 16 hours after I got the despatch e-mail.
Lucky! My very first Rarewaves order was for the Suzume LE on Dec 13, I got a notification it was 'fulfilled' on the 16th and then nothing....the tracking link goes through to ParcelHub which says 'Shipment created'. As I've never used them I have no idea what to expect!
