UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

What was the audio issue with The Colors Within?

I'm wondering whether to ask for the bluray for my birthday.
The authoring house applied dynamic range compression to all the audio tracks to make quieter scenes louder and louder scenes less loud.

While dynamic range compression can be desirable in some situations, such as watching with the TV's built-in speakers or late at night, it shouldn't be forced upon consumers. Consumers can apply dynamic range compression on their own via their TV or AV receiver settings if they desire.

Ah, thank you!

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Blu-ray should be revealed soon. The German Deluxe Edition and steelbook have been listed on Anime Planet with a release date of November 20, but cannot be ordered at the moment and the images have been blurred. Same discs as the UK and French release. I hope they don't screw the audio up like they did with The Colors Within.

Got 0 intention to buy without a hdr release the hdr is too good to downgrade to the Blu-ray sadly, maybe one day they will put out a 4k release

Interesting selection. Worth noting that both Carole & Tuesday and Call of the Night Season 1 sets retain the booklets that were included in the Sentai Premium Edition releases so props to AL for not messing that up.

I'm curious to know why DANDADAN is taking its time as I would have though it would be a one-to-one replica of the GKIDS set like the two distributors have done for PROMARE and Evangelion. Guess we'll have to wait for the blog post for that.

Looking at my notes they have at least focused on getting through their backlog of unreleased titles, though its obvious InuYasha has been put aside for the time being. Hopefully they prioritise it sooner than later, unless its being saved until Naruto Shippuden is sorted (assuming that series is also getting re-authored like the first series did).

I'm curious to see the current status of Gundam at this point especially given the recent discovery that the rights in the US actually lapsed due to the Rightstuf acquisition, meaning that 0080, Victory Gundam and the other remaining ones AL hasn't yet picked up are OOP.

Some solid releases in there for sure, and Bleach continues to chug away, Shippuden I suspect might be unveiled at the MCM or towards the end of the year/early 2026 depending on plans.

No InuYasha again though which I’m not surprised about - part of me is tempted just to import the Viz sets if we don’t get any updates soon.

I'm only interested in Komada: A Whiskey Family out of the September releases, since I'm a heavy drinker, lol! Although, I don't actually drink any whiskeys at all, I'm just not a fan of the flavor. Tequila, Rum, Vodka and Gin are my go-to's...

I love Call of the Night but I already have the US release with all the glow-in-the-dark ink on the storage box and accessories inside.

Still hoping there is a chance that Anime Limited could licence Laid Back Camp. Surprised there is still not even a US home video release. Has there been any home video release outside Japan?
I would love love looooove if AL licensed Laid Back Camp! It deserves a blu-ray release and it's a crime that Crunchyroll still has not released it on blu-ray. @Hanners is there possibility for AL to give Laid Back Camp a blu-ray release just like you guys gave A Place Further than the Universe a blu-ray release?
