UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Not a fan of oversized CE's as I think most just don't have the shelf space for them.

Would have been alright if (like the Frieren LE or previous UE's like Eureka or Wolf''s rain) they had a standard LE box inside so you could have that on the shelf and store everything else elsewhere but unfortunately they've chosen not to do that for this.

Are we getting the Frieren (pt2) LE over here in the UK or something?
I can’t say there are many ‘modern’ titles I’d be willing to pay silly money for, bar this.
The (UK) pt1 Blu doesn’t even include the DVDs like the US version. I probably shouldn’t complain seeing as they’re quite literally paying double, so I guess we have the option to just also buy the separate DVD release…

Thanks to those who responded about Place Further than the Universe. I got a response asking me to confirm my address a week or so ago, but no response to that and no discs yet.

I gave up waiting on Eizouken and imported the Sentai standard. Having seen that CE, I have no regrets.

Where Blood etc
They will probably ship it to you without any notification or email beforehand. That's what they did to me in 2023: I contacted AL's customer service about my order arriving in damaged condition and they asked me to return it to them saying that once it has been shipped back to them they would send me a replacement. I emailed them the receipt and the tracking code immediately after I took the package to my local post office and they never replied back to me. I waited few days and when tracking showed that they had received it I sent them a new email saying that according to the tracking they have received the order and I asked if they could confirm that they indeed have received it and if they could now sent me the replacement. A week went by and again they never replied back to me. One day I just suddenly got a notification from my local post office that a package is arriving and I should pay the taxes for it. It turned out AL had indeed sent me a replacement but they just never bothered to let me know about it nor reply to my emails.

@Hanners you know what this ones out there but i'm going to ask because i'm genuinely curious, since discotek media just announced they'll be releasing the urotsukidoji sequel's would you consider releasing those films, I appreciate it would probably have to be the original BBFC cut's but the fact it's being re-released at all in America is interesting and it is an important part of anime history particularly in the UK given it's what caused the moral panic in the UK over anime

There are so many cuts in the later ones it wouldn't be worth it. Iirc both 4 and 5 have over half their runtime banned.

1,2 and 3 were regularly broadcast on Sci-Fi though back in the day.

Inferno road, Which was numbered part 4, only saw the third episode released in the UK, the first 2 were banned by the BBC for "likely to encourage paedophiles", so I'd say not likely to be released by AL or anybody else TBH
