UK Anime Distributor Crunchyroll/Funimation/Manga UK Discussion Thread

My objection is when something is available only in steelbook form. I really dislike steelbooks and when that's the case most of the time I just don't buy. I don't think this happens often with anime, but it's happening with some studio releases of live-action films.
I hate how CR gave Mobile Suit Gundam: Witch from Mercury only a steelbook release and it was such a bare bones release.

I forgot about that one, only because that wasn't a show I was interested in. Indeed that sucks though.

I love to collect steelbook releases for anime; I never collected steelbooks for regular live-action movies, but decided to do so only for anime. I try to collect any anime Steelbooks even if I remotely like it. Overlord falls into that category - I never bought Overlord on Blu-ray, but I vaguely remember liking the first season enough that I will probably bite on these steelbook releases for all three seasons. I've never even seen seasons 2 or 3.

Strange wording on that given it is already available as a regular release and that reads like it isn't but is coming besides the steelbook version. Unless that is for somewhere other than the UK (or US).

I assuming I missed the announcement but looks like overlord 1,2 & 3 steelbooks are up on All The Anime and looks to be aiming for 20th October.

EDIT: Looks like MVM have them up too and further down the list so maybe they been up a while.

AL sent the email about these on 11 July, and I think they were on the site a bit before that. MVM put them up a few days later if I recall.

CR, how long do I have to wait for Sound! Euphonium seasons 2 and 3 AND MyGO????

After this crunchyroll title only available in usa - amazon themselves not stocked it for a while so running out of options but an amazon ad from a third party American company has it for a decent price - anyone have any experience dealing with third party American businesses on amazon or will it be a big headache with customs to the uk and delivery/if need returns or stuff? -
The item is £70 but dont say it will come until 17th sep and sold by a company called moviemars-uk (not great reviews)

Anyone had experience with this importing this type of thing from a third party or am i letting myself into a big headache by doing this?

Any help is appreciated
Thanks

I've used moviemars on occasion and had no hassle, other than having to wait. But they were relatively cheap (below customs) items.

Incidentally, what are you looking to order?
It was this crunchyroll anime collectors edition i cant get anywhere else in the uk -

Its on for £70 so u think i will have any issues/customs on the item idk if its over the limit as i haven't ordered from America in a while especially with new tariffs and stuff

Also do they package good as i did order this when it was in stock from Amazon last year however it came crushed and had to mess around with returns - ever since then it hasnt been in stock

I would be careful with MovieMars; they don't maintain their own stock, they just order through a supplier when they need to fill your order. That's why they're slow. It's fine if you order something in print, but if you order something out of print or otherwise not readily available, you'll end up waiting around for weeks just have your order cancelled (at which point it's even harder to find a copy elsewhere). Speaking from experience on this.

Cheers yeah i have seen they got pretty bad reviews like what you said and was on the fence hence why i asked so yeah probably a big headache I'm gonna avoid - oh well hopefully one comes up another place
