The Tatami Galaxy 1
Oh good grief, a couple of minutes into this I actually paused it to check if I accidentally had the video running at 2x speed. I've been watching subtitled anime for over 25 years, and this is the first time I haven't been able to keep up with the subtitles. I don't remember having this problem with Night is Short, Walk on Girl.

Back Arrow ep1-3

Not quite sure how to feel about this one. Its broad strokes are fine - it’s got an interesting world and decent enough mecha designs - I just wish the writing was a bit stronger, it often feels kind of corny and by the numbers.

Dr. Ramune -Mysterious Disease Specialist- episode 10 Seeing what cannot otherwise be seen.

Horimiya episode 10 That’s all it is.

Twin Star Exorcists episodes 1-22

Yeah, our protagonist's quite the motormouth when he's narrating, isn't he? The male main character of Night is Short isn't anything like that.

Yeah, it's not anything terribly startling, I'll grant you. I'm definitely enjoying it, though; it's written by Kazuki Nakashima, after all, one of my very favourites.

There's some neat world building you've yet to come across yet. (I've watched up to and including episode 8.)

Episodes 1 - 24

Latest title from my backlog. Slow burning character development mixed with "mystery" of the week.

Sadly I don't believe the 2nd season got released in this country, or if it did it's no longer available (even streaming)

Showed Knights of Sidonia eps 1-6 tonight to the neighbor couple, up on the big screen in my theater. They were really enjoying all the nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat action so far, so hopefully they'll make time to come back one evening this week for some more outer space drama...

Hokuto no Ken - Episodes 92 - 97

Demon Hero Wataru - Episodes 12 - 14

Back Arrow - Episode 9

MAPS (1987)

I've long wanted to see this and a fansub has finally become available, a decent and pretty standard 80's one shot OVA, the 1994 version was better IMHO.

Back Arrow ep1-3

As Neil.T said the first few episodes are a bit messy but it gets better so stick with it

Children of the Sea ...I don't know what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting that! As has been said before, it's a visual knockout and maybe the most visually impressive anime film that I have ever seen. It feels a lot more suited to the big screen but AL's Blu-Ray does it some justice.

Its plot is dense - I've not read the manga, but the film feels as if it is trying to wrestle it into a concise form for its whole running time and it somewhat succeeds. But What Does It All Mean? Hell if I know. Towards the end, the whole thing breaks down into a metaphysical soup that visually evokes the ending of Tomino's Ideon: Be Invoked, Marcell Jankovics' magnum opus The Tragedy of Man and the legendary special effects sequences of Douglas Trumbull for 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Tree of Life.. It has been said that we know more about the surface of the Moon than we do about the bottom of our own oceans and it feels like Children of the Sea plays upon that as a jumping off point in much the same way as those sci-fi masterpieces did when turning inward and examining the big questions. It's not in the same league but it is nevertheless one of the most captivating animated films of recent years.

OMG someone else who knows The Tragedy of Man! I keep meaning to watch it and I've seen Feherlofia and Janos Vitez by Jankovics, I am super excited about the Arbelos Blu-ray of both those films (though I'm planning to just buy the standard edition as I'm not really into slipcovers or posters) :)

Ajin Season 2 (Japanese) - Episodes 1-4

An interesting start to the season, not a direction I expected it take. It does seem to be falling into the same trappings as the first season tho, condensed time and lots of planning/training but there are actually events happening this time. Oh hey, Kai’s finally back!
