Ah, I felt like something must have been skipped, with the setting suddenly switching back to the Capital - it was jarring to say the least.NormanicGrav said:VoxPhantom said:Akame ga Kill episode 20. Not to mention they skipped 10+ chapters/an entire arc. The show's got a bit of a ****-storm all over the net.
I just watched a bit of episode 1 out of curiosity and the video is abyssmal. The ghosting sticks out a lot, the colours are screwed and then there's the heavy post processing applied. There are frames where only a characters mouth is moving, yet parts of the image will blur/Smudge/lose detail in certain frames. I'm glad I didn't buy it. I'd personally say this is as bad, if not worse than Funi's Spice & Wolf season 1 upscale. Only difference there is that HD Masters for S&W 1 exist whereas they don't for Sailor Moon.NormanicGrav said:Now for the Blu-ray quality. It's bad. Not even close to being perfect. I'll get Part 2 regardless (I don't want an incomplete set alright?) but I hope Viz improve on this with the later seasons and most importantly the movies. I know the DVD pillar-boxing is getting fixed for Part 2 onwards but seriously Viz why didn't you just keep it DVD only and wait for Toei to create their own Blu-ray master?
As a result I won't pre-order Sailor Moon R until I hear about how the VQ is like on that. If you haven't listened to the ANN podcast, Viz basically ignored the actual situation with no plans to recall the discs and declared the DVD sets with pillar-boxing issues to be a 'Collector's Edition' as a joke.
