Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal: Episode 1

The stream was pretty bad (nico), going up and down with quality & I swear I saw some errors in the subs. Lets hope that improves..

They sped through that! Whoa ..already introducing Sailor Mercury next episode. I enjoyed it, love the art (Hopefully I'll get used to the transformation scene, considering it'll be heavily used), the voice work .. lovely stuff.

Oh, also watched Free Eternal Summer: Episode 1 the other day ..yeah, awesome.

Sword Art Online II Episode 1

Hmm...I'm admittedly mixed, but first episodes are often dragged down with having to set things up after all.
 
GITS 2nd GIG, 2nd disc.

Liking that most of the eps feel pretty self contained - and it does the slick crime thriller thing like no other. But gosh does the animation look cheap by today's standards.
 
Knights of Sidonia 1

I like the world and setting so far, and the brief glimpses of the story seem very intriguing. Plus it has a talking bear. Once again I'm not sure about the CGI animation here, looks very off at times, especially with the characters.

Naturally with this being on Netflix as the latest Netflix original, I've already gone straight onto the next episode...
 
So, I bought Trigun on a blind buy, thinking it was just a critically acclaimed action show .. up to episode 7 now and have been presently surprised by the underlying sci-fi aspect.

Tokyo Ghoul has by far left the best impression for a first episode. Batshit KanaHana was strangely erotic.

OK this is seriously good stuff. I've paused my Netflix binge to watch the footy, but I have a feeling I'll get straight back on it after the match.

Haha. I've just finished ep. 10. Trying my hardest not to marathon some more episodes, I got work in the morning ..

I'm loving it so far, just the type of show I need after the moe/cutesy binge I recently experienced.
 
Aldnoah.Zero 1

This entire episode was incredibly predictable. I just hope it doesn't turn out that Saazbaum orchestrated Asseylum's assassination. Cruhteo being voiced by Sho Hayami gives me hope, as does Urobuchi's involvement, but I'm not entirely sold on this just yet.

Both Madoka and Fate/Zero took 2-3 episodes to get going though, so I'll hold out for now.

Sword Art Online II (Japanese Dub) - Episode 1

I actually haven't seen Extra Edition yet (saving it for the Aniplex release [I will be getting the Aniplex versions at some point], even though it's a massive recap) so I decided to go straight into the Gun Gale Online arc/Phantom Bullet arc which I heard is only 12 episodes so it looks like it's once again going to be a flawed adaptation (the second half is either Mother's Rosario & Early and Late arcs or straight to Alicization). I'm using Daisuki's Youtube channel due to Crunchyroll's buffering on my end (stop after stop after stop won't help with HD) but with the connection better than usual I can stream HD YouTube clips as long as I can let them buffer for a few minutes.

I enjoyed this episode (The franchise is a guilty pleasure), the villain sounds beast (and his voice too) and the opening song is as good as the first two in Season 1.
