About Her Brother (2010)-Directed by-Yôji Yamada
Yôji Yamada's compelling tear jerker about a widow called Ginko and her estranged brother Tetsuro who is a failed comedian and alcoholic.Tetsuro shows up at Ginko's wedding and again ends up drunk and makes a fool of himself,Ginko finally has enough and wants nothing more to do with him but she eventually finds out her brother is terminally ill and thus begins a long hard road of brother and sister building bridges before it is to late.Like most of Yôji Yamada's movies he makes you care for the people in his movies and deals with harsh subject matter with great care and sensitivity,there is real believability to the characters to which us the viewer can relate to and his optimism for the human spirit and love always shines through,a fantastic movie which i,m not embarrassed to say left me in tears.

Detective Conan: Episode "One" - The Great Detective Turned Small (Japanese) - TV Special (Complete)

Some years back I watched the first episode of Detective Conan and enjoyed it yet never got around to continuing it.

From my understanding this was a re-imagining of it and I did remember the main plot details from that first episode but it also included from what I felt was likely information and / or reveals from later on in the series as well as after the main plot showing a lot of what I suppose are notable scenes from the series as some seemed quite spoilerly despite me having no knowledge on any plot details post-episode one.

Apart from the end though I felt this was a good re-introduction for me for the series as outside of the first episode my only other experience with the series are the two Lupin crossovers.

After watching the other movies I own now I'll revisit the Lupin crossovers as I'll have a better understanding of the cast then.

This was enjoyable though, I look forward to getting deeper into the series and hope that Discotek can / will release more of it.
