Your Top 5 Most Wanted UK Anime Licenses? 2014 Edition!

Mangaranga said:
I'm going to cheat slightly and have two lists.

Title's I'd like to see get a UK release:
- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
- Toradora
- Seitokai Yakuindomo
- Kimi ni Todoke (I imagine this is highly unlikely)

Titles I would like to see get a UK release despite the fact I own the US/JP releases are:
- Garden of Sinners
- Index/Railgun
- Binbougami ga!
- Ano Hana
- Accel World (BD)

Just a quick question, why hasn't Toradora! actually been licensed yet for the UK??? It NEEDS it. :p It's already out in America and Australia... any news or rumors on this?

Probably because it's sub-only at the moment. Haven't heard any rumours about it lately, but it's one of those licenses that people do seem to prod Manga and MVM about fairly regularly.

1. Record of Lodoss War
2. A Certain Magical Index / Scientific Railgun
3. Garden of Sinners
4. Millennium Actress
5. Scrapped Princess

I haven't included shows I already have that are released in the USA, these are ones I would like to see UK editions of (notably some from Anime Limited)

Well, I haven't casted any votes yet... And there's reason to that.
Reading through previous editions and this edition I wondered why the whole poll is only voting on one general idea, and doesn't have a small breakdown?

I personally would break down the top 5 idea into:
- Top 5 anime series that haven't been dubbed (yet)
- Top 5 anime series that have been dubbed
- Top 5 anime movies
- Top 5 anime that should be upgraded to BD
- Top 5 re-releases

And add the rule:
- Mention whether you'd want to see a BD or dvd release of said titles (please check whether it's even possible though!)

And to defend what I say I tallied up the votes so far...
Note: I only used the first 5 anime in Mangaranga's post and left out Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya as it's not OOP.

As things stand now the whole top 5 will be sub-only, and I know -as some mentioned- that some have anime with a dub in their top 10 but didn't include them in their top 5 for multiple reasons.
If there was a breakdown I would definitely vote for a few sub-only anime as well -even though I prefer English dubs-, like "Ground Control to Psycho-Electric Girl" BD.
But as things stand in the current version of this poll-topic I don't think I'll have any sub-only titles in the top 5, sadly enough.

I also think that if Jerome, Andrew or Tony (Manga, Anime Ltd or MVM) were to check up on this topic it'd be way handier to see for them how the breakdown is for anime that appeal to a larger audience (with dub) and the popular sub-only anime for the smaller audience... And more importantly, whether sub-fans in general prefer BD or are fine with a sub-only dvd. (I think most people wish BD, but I can't just remember everybody's preferences)

And nobody can be hurt by sharing their votes on what should be upgraded to BD & what should be re-released (seperately).

Either way, no hate to anybody! ^_~ I'm just sharing my thoughts and hope to get reason back from people.
I think this whole topic would be more interesting if it got an overhaul. (Or maybe I should start my own topic, but I'm not going to make that decision without feedback)

So ..just to add to the list ..

- Top 5 anime movies
:
- Steins Gate
- Tiger & Bunny: The Rising
- Madoka Magica Movie 3
- Ghost In The Shell: Arise
- Bayonetta: Bloody Fate

- Anime that should be upgraded to BD
:
- Samurai Champloo
- Berserk
- Ouran High School Host Club
- Baccano

- Top re-releases
:
- All Full Metal Panic
- Azumanga Daioh
- Cromartie High School
- Martian Successor Nadesico

I might just make my own topic in December for the 2015 edition following my own idea, we'll see what the future brings. :)
But for now I'm going to mention how things stand for 2014 now. :) First I'm just mentioning a general top 5 to count in the 2014 edition.

02 - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (with S1 re-licence & movie)

05 - Heaven's Memo Pad

NOTA BENE
- If it comes to School Rumble only the first half of season 1 got released in the UK as far as I know, the rest never got released. It just deserves to be released no matter what haters say.

- I must say though that I'd prefer Anime Limited to get The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya out as a premium complete collection. I think it's important to have the episodes in the 2009 broadcast order.

- The top 5 sub-only titles is synonym to "@Anime Limited, licence these" (=P). I'd love to see Toradora dubbed, but that makes it even more of a reason why Anime Ltd should grab it as they do sound like a company that would run a replacement program for people who would love to have the dub in their set they already paid for at home if it occured a dub would be made. (Same counts for other titles mentioned of course). I'm not going to lie though, my top 5 sub-only titles is no promise I'd pre-order these.

- As for the movies I'd prefer the Steins;Gate, Strike Witches & Madoka movies to get dubbed though because the series got dubbed and it'd be way more pleasant to watch the movies in the same fashion.

- A few titles falling out of the top 5 upgrades to BD are: Black Rock Shooter, Mayo Chiki, EF - A Tale of the Two, Soul Eater & Samurai Champloo.

- I might amend the top 5 list if I happen to think of a title I forgot about for a moment, but I don't expect that to happen. ^_^
