Did you go to the London Expo? How was it? Also, how was the anime side of things?

Feel free to post up any pictures etc :)

i totally thought it was crap. it was better last time...... still i did get to meet maile flanagan who told that she might do the 3 naruto movies (so far she has told me, she has done only 52 episodes of naruto.. the guy from Manga also told me that the Naruto dvd (i dont know if its uncut or not) will come out 21 august. That made me glad. she also asked me if i was american and then i said yes and that jazz. I also got some stuff like my poster (which she signed) and a head band and some more stuff like that. I also got an auto graph from ed speleers (actor who plays eragon). I saw almost all the main stage presentations (espiecially the naruto, oban star racers, and eragon ones) :D

Oh and one more thing!!!! Where were you guys!!!!!!!!! im so gonna punch you guys!!!!!!! (jk)

Meh was more my reponse. Some good stuff, but not more than 1/2 a days worth. Lots of interesting stuff, managed to get Rahxephon OST and some interesting graphic novels, plus some random stuff, but doubt i will be going back tommorrow. No really cheap DVD's and nothing that facinating going on. Also kinda pissed off that the person before me was the last guy to get one of those free bags they were handing out.

My reaction was so/so. Some good stuff. And then the completely Blasphemous Naruto dub - seriously it makes my ears bleed >.<

It was better last october I think. But there was more Sci-fi stuff this time, which makes me think that the october con is more anime-based.

I got a completely free copy of appleseed though, so I ain't complaining ;)

I got in at 9:30am and was gone at 1pm, there wasn’t enough to keep my attention, and I must say big improvement over last Mays Expo but still lacking something.

I am glad I missed the badly dubbed Naruto episode; I have just watched it and dubbed Naruto just killed my inner child…. T_T

The one thing that continues to annoy me about Expo is the £15 for a autograph and a 20 sec talk to the guest, I know they have come over from America or where ever but it feels so……… sterile and quick for the want of a better term.

Ok so down to the Pro’s and Cons’s

Pro’s

Anime event that you get to meet Forums people at
Easy to get to (Damn DLR being down this time)
You get go meet some interesting people
Cheap to attend

Con’s

Sterile and quick
Noisy
Crowded
Little on the expensive side
Cosplay weapons (this is a personal one as I got hit in the face twice today with them)
Staff that didn’t or couldn’t help you

As you can see the con’s out weigh the pro’s, I guess I will go again next May and see if it has improved.

Pics to follow i will upload them tomorow.

it was ok..i guess! but it got really boring after about 5 mins of being in there!!..but seriously........i've never seen so many naruto headbands at once o_o

i know i saw like 200 hundred kids wearing naruto konoha headbands. i got so jealous that i bought one myself and i got all the girls looking at me

Well i thought it was alright but I can't really see a weekend of it, but it was nice seeing everyone, the costumes this year were excellent, though the voice actress lady gave me a weird look when i got on stage :?

What did everyone think of my cosplay?

i think it wa ok coz i onnly wannted to get another chobits manga and also pocky and some other tings plus i had more fun while at the hotel with Valha and all that lot ^_^

The Expo was OK i suppose, it was what i was expecting really, the good stuff was all at the hotel though. The highlight for me was playing twister with some random people I didnt know from another forum and beating them all, *TWICE*, all hail the Twister king, (Can someone tell me what forum that was so I can go there and gloat, LOL) although coming up with the gauranteed money making product of

"Dose my Bomb look big in this" Rucksacks

was also good LOL, what are all your feelings about how the Hotel meet went for those of you that camr back to the hotel that is 8)

it was fUnness! i might get a hotel room for october actulluy ^_^ so i wont get sooo tired like i did wen goin home -_- and so i can also stay with u lot playing games and stuff! Thanks for the Great time in the hotel room you lot who were there ^^

Well, I guess once you've spent out on Pocky and Naruto Headbands, the only way things can go is down…

Hmmm... this year I thought the Expo was much better, in terms of organisation and turn out, and there was more than enough there in terms of multi-media right across the board to keep me interested. In fact, looking back now, I wish I'd done more ^^

As far as the anime side of things went, it was nice to see United Publications make an appearance, and I think that Manga were sensible in their DVD prices. Tokyo Toys let me down a little bit though, mostly with the distance that their huge counter placed between them and the customers (most of who just wanted to know how much things were. The only things priced up were the Hi-Chews...). Just trying to look at stock was hard enough, let alone buying it - perhaps this was a problem caused by the masses of people, but it's something for them to think about for next time.

I would have liked to have stayed back at the hotel longer with everybody, but I've got to study and get sorted for exams. It was nice to meet up with everyone again, and to get to speak to a couple of members here.

And I thought your cosplay was great JAKEMAN, and you carried it off well.

Also, was Jonathan Clements there does anybody know? There was a guy with a beard and dreadlocks who, going by pictures I'd seen of him, I thought could have been him - but I was too... scared to go over and ask in case he wasn't...

If i had been playing twister i would have kicked your ass :p
and the forum was the NERV forum, ask valha for the addy cause he's a member on it

As many have said above, the highlights were not the expo event itself, but the meeting up of us, & the socialising that follows such encounters. To be honest, the expo event itself for me is just a shopping trip; it is the meets either side of expo that are the real fun for me.

I bought:
Red camo combats
Red/orange camo top
Grey camo combats
Grey camo top
Dragonball Z Shin Budokai PSP
Gundam Wing Endless Waltz Serpent Custom model kit
3x Armored Core models in pretty boxes
P-chan plushie
Bleach bag
Mario & Zelda NES keyrings
One Piece wallet
Mario & Luigi plushies
Onimusha beanie
Dragon head belt buckle
Gundam Bling pendant

Memorable events/conversations:
The McShinji Monster of McDonalds opposite Tottenham Court Road tube.
What not to say on a crowded tube. (Is that your hand?)
Soul Calibur 3 tournament (I came 3rd/2nd out of the human players)
Soul Calibur 3 league (1st!)
Twister (I lost)
PSP Porn
The only girl in the room being the only one of us to purchase hentai at the expo. (Yay porn!)
Emma-chan beating me at Smash (I don't lose often, so it is nice when I do).
Lush subway sammy on my way home
Watching Battle Royale SE in the hotel room
Getting told off by the hotel because the NERV group was too noisy. XD (We were next door to them, so when the warnings went out, we got the phone call too.)
Maxi's hair fathering Sophitia's children.
Tira playing with her ring.
Nightmare & Seigfried sticking their massive choppers through Tira's ring.
Shadax the undefeated, custom character on Soul Calibur 3.
Kawada's boner.
Funky Cat Maybe
Double barreled toilet roll.
The bible outside the window, left there by Shinji (of NERV forum fame) last year, when I shared a room with him & others at May '05 expo.
Stuff.
Things.
4. Itchy. Tasty.
Bottle of cock.
Shaggy from Scooby Doo.
"Does my bomb look big in this?"
Tube Tactics!
"Hide the wang!"

These along should make interesting convo. :D

Expo meh, hotel FTW

I gotta agree with Mutsumi, the hotel was the best, whod'a thought you could turn Soul Calibur into some perverted sick conversation.... anyways, the expo wasn't quite what I was expecting, and the amount of dubbed crud they had on show also brought it right down. Would have liked more subs rather than dubs (and I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me.) Almost felt like more of one big advert to me.

Some of the cosplays were scaaary *shudders* but on the whole they were better than most cons I've been to ^^

Oh and guys, sorry for puking in your toilet

It took me a while to get into the swing of things at the expo as it was my first one, but when I did I enjoyed it. The cosplayers and social side kinda outweighed the shopping (nothing you couldn't really get online)

My biggest regret is that I didn't get to meet Minxy :( (Mangaminx)
