You and I are Polar Opposites Episodes 1-4. This trending-towards-most-popular title of the season is... just bearable to barely Ok for me. As an MC Suzuki just isn't cute or appealing at all to me; I don't much care for the way she is drawn. She's also way too overbearing, especially in the first two episodes, enough so that I almost dropped the show right then and there. But I did watch the following two episodes since they were already out, and Suzuki did start to calm down maybe a little bit. I just can't tolerate all the yelling and shouting she does, which you tend to get in a lot of romcoms, thus why I much prefer romdrams like this season's In the Clear Moonlit Dusk - 10x better. With that said, Suzuki's friend Satou, with her short black hair and mellow demeanor, is definitely my favorite of all the female characters we've met so far in the series. I'll keep watching just for her; she received a decent amount of screen time in these last two episodes.

In counterpart to that, I have only seen the first episode as I don't subscribe to Crunchyroll but they have started putting 1-3 episodes of some shows on youtube as advertising. I absolutely loved that first episode and hope that this gets a blu-ray release.

Edit: You might say our opinions are polar opposites (couldn't resist). :p

Cat's Eye (2025) (Japanese) - Episode 12 (Complete)

Though it wasn't perfect in the art and animation department this was still a solid adaptation of Cat's Eye I'd say and I enjoyed it a fair amount. I prefer the original from what I've seen of it but this wasn't bad at all. It seems to be setting up for a second season as well which I welcome if it comes to fruition.

Super Power Robo Galatt - Episodes 21 - 25 [Final]

There is a bit of a sudden tonal shift in the last few episodes of Galatt, episode 23 was a very serious episode with no gags and then it was a bit of a mix and episodes 24 & 25 had old school mecha people getting vapourised in battle kicks in amongst the jokes. I have enjoyed watching Galatt again, silly and incoherent at times but it did make laugh consistently and some of the jokes don't need subs tbh and it added a bit of variety to my anime viewing.

Hyper Speed GranDoll - Episodes 1 - 3 [Final]

I'm going through some of my CPM DVDs that I haven't watched in years and started with GranDoll. I still really like this OVA, a very tropey and by the numbers story but easy entertainment and I can watch this kind of thing all day long, lovely mechanical design and late 90's OVA animation too.

Mobile Suit Gundam - Episodes 1 - 3

It been 10 years since I last watched the TV series and I want to watch the original UC story again. When I last watched it there wasn't a decent fansub of the original episode 15, but now that it's easily available on YouTube, I'm going to watch all 43 episodes as originally produced.

These early episodes are so good (the first episode is still one of the best opening episodes of any series I seen) and the character work and tension building is fantastic.

Here is everything anime that I completed in the remainder of 2025 :)

Jubei-Chan the Ninja Girl Season 1 (English dubbed) - Fun, silly, endearing series that I enjoyed a lot, dub was solid enough as well :)

Lord El Melloi II’s Case Files (English dubbed) - Entertaining, and Waver was always one of my fave characters, though I prefer the main Fate/ series anime to this :)

Ranking of Kings Season 2: The Treasure Chest of Courage (English dubbed) - Very cute and kindhearted, also with darker moments, much like the main story series, was def worth watching if you love S1 and Bouji and Kage like I do :)

Bloom Into You (English dubbed) - Lovely yuri anime that I'm glad I have now finally watched in it's entirety :)

Vampire Hunter D (Streamline English dubbed) - With Friend F, who I haven't seen for a bit now but still talk to quite a bit online and we're gonna meet up in January! Still as entertainingly campy as ever and gotta love that grimy/murky atmosphere :)

The Colors Within (English dubbed) - What an absolutely beautiful film, def one of the highlights of the year for me, I love how soft and feminine this is, it's also a film of small quiet moments adding up to life, I'd put this up there with The Heike Story as my favourite Naoko Yamada work thus far, very well dubbed as well :)

The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes (English dubbed) - Not as good as The Colours Within but enjoyable, glad I took the time to watch it :)

The Colors Within (English dubbed) (REWATCH) - With friends B and C, we all enjoyed it :)

Belle (English dubbed) (REWATCH) - With my boyfriend who really liked the movie and cried at the end along with me 🥰

Lord El Melloi II’s Case Files (English dubbed) - Entertaining, and Waver was always one of my fave characters, though I prefer the main Fate/ series anime to this :)
But it had a car chase.🥳

Me.
Ninja Scroll TV
Finished.
The last 2 episodes were exciting but 1-11 were let's walk, let's run and a fight.
A bit boring and so didn't pause or rewind if I left the room.

Trigun Stargaze Elf Bar ep3

Not quite ready to drop this completely, but I think at least I’ll shelve it until it’s all released. I’m not against a new adaptation trying to do something different to the original, but I’m not convinced they have anything suitably compelling to replace what they’ve taken away (namely personality, character development and fun)…

Fate / Strange Fake ep1-4

Going off previous Fate instalments, the first episode seemed a bit overly familiar (take a sip every time someone at the clock tower expresses concern over what’s about to go down) and rather dense in its exposition, but I think it’s picked up a lot from there. The set-piece fight at the end of the second episode was particularly great. I think you can definitely feel the hand of Ryogo Narita in the writing too - there’s some witty exchanges between our cast of loveable psychopaths as it goes on.
