So I finally watched the movie Blue Thermal, I stumbled on it streaming for free on YouTube. I clicked on it just to preview a few minutes and ended up watching the entire movie! I do own a copy of the Blu-ray, but I just haven't opened it yet. I really enjoyed this movie; it took me back to my own college days - there was a glider port located just 10 miles north of the Penn State University campus where I went to school; Penn State actually has a Glider Club too, just like in the movie. We used to drive there to watch the gliders spiraling along the mountain ridges running next to the glider port. Very peaceful and relaxing, and very scenic too.

Detectives These Days Are Crazy! Ep1-2

This is an odd one - maybe it’ll come into play more as the show goes on, but having established that its main character was a child prodigy detective who has grown inept and lazy as an adult, it kind of doesn’t seem to be doing anything with that? I would have expected a more recognisable parody of Detective Conan or Young Kindaichi, but this is much closer in spirit to Gintama, with gags based around the characters doing a random assortment of odd-jobs. That said, while the first episode was a bit so-so, I thought the second one was actually pretty funny, so assuming it doesn’t do anything especially obnoxious, I might stick with it.

I mean it could be doing Kindaichi for all I know, I only ever saw like one episode and it bored me to tears.

Treasure Island continues to be a lot of fun and I'm really enjoying it.

I've got a fansub of the TV series that I have sat on for years but having finally seen the OVA I might now give the TV series a go at some point.
