Lord of Lords Ryu Knight - Episodes 6 - 20

Ryu Knight has been very good so far and I'm getting totally sucked into it, it amazes me how little attention this show gets.

Dream Hunter Rem - Episodes 1 - 3 [Final]

This is something I've been meaning to watch for years, and I really enjoyed it, onto the sequel next.

The Garden of Words

Ok, so watching a lot of Shinkai's films lately, it's obvious he's a one trick pony to varying degrees of success but I did like this film, it was succinct in its story telling and I liked how the relationship developed between the main characters.

Bang Brave Bang Bravern - Episode 10

An interesting episode that starts to setup the final battle!

Synduality Noir - Episodes 16 - 19

Lots of exposition in these episodes that fills in a lot of background that has been drip feeding since the start of the second half at the consequence of taking a bit of energy out of the show, now hopefully with all that explanation out of the way it'll re-energise the run to the conclusion.

Gurren Lagaan 1 - AWESOME! I know I'll enjoy this. Going to watch ep 2 in a minute! :D

TTGL was a 10/10 show for me and it's a show I'm keen to revisit.

Mezzo DSA episodes 1-13 (complete. An action series spin-off that was decent but unremarkable.) 3/5

This was my opinion of Mezzo DSA when I watched it a decade or so ago.

Ranma 1/2 episodes 124-138: And that's set 6 complete. Just one more set and the movie/OVA collection to go. Akane seems to have lost all her fighting skills. I can vaguely remember that was her forte in the first few episodes, but now she calls Ranma for help every time. Oh, and I took a picture from one episode which reminded me of a current movie franchise:

Bit of non-anime last night, but all from Japan mostly thanks to the HMV sale on Japanese films (still running). Our Little Sister was lovely, and one of the stars was the cyborg from the classic Cyborg She, Antiporno was rather disturbing, as we look into the fractured mind of a woman going out of control (lot of shouting, physical degradation and nudity). At least it was short (75 minutes). Finally I started my Criterion Collection edition of Samurai, and it's a beautiful transfer a million times better than the standard DVD I watched a few months ago.

Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 COMPLETE (REWATCH, English dubbed) -

Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 COMPLETE (REWATCH, English dubbed) - OK so I do think it's somewhat valid to criticise how long it takes the main couple to confess their feelings here but I still love this show and can't wait to see what Season 3 brings, my god Kazehaya and Sawako are just so sweet 🥰

Archer Season 7 COMPLETE - Damn dog, that's inappropes! Another really fun season, also my PA really likes this show, definitely his kind of humor haha XP

Helluva Boss Season 1 Episodes 7-8 COMPLETE - With friend B, have really immensely enjoyed this series, Stolas is prob my favourite character, definitely a worthy sister series to Hazbin Hotel :)

Helluva Boss Season 2 Episodes 1-2 - Continuing on with friend B :)

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 2 Episodes 16-19 (REWATCH) - With friend B, Episode 19 in particular was really quite heartbreaking 😭 ❤️

Barakamon Episodes 1-9 (REWATCH, English subbed) - OMG Naru is so cute and funny I love this show majorly cheers me up every time I watch it 🥰

Silver Spoon Season 1 Episodes 1-8 (English subbed) - I really dig this series about students at farming school, def one of the best SOLs I've seen so far, perhaps partly because Hiromu Arakawa has also worked in other genres so the balance in this series between things happening and not is better than in some other SOL shows I've seen such as Aria and Flying Witch which I like but find a touch too glacial, though tbf I found Amanchu livelier and that is also by Kozue Amano the creator of Aria, so maybe it's also to do with the director of the anime sometimes, as in Junichi Sato SOL is generally slower than Kenichi Kasai directed stuff like Honey and Clover. Anyway, glad I am getting around to watching this finally given how much I loved both FMA anime :)

I love Buffy, but I can't just watch fave episodes. It's either the entire series from start to finish (with a month or two set aside) on nothing. Maybe I should unwrap my copy of Silver Spoon and give it a go. One day, maybe.

I am rewatching all of Buffy, just with two different friends separately, so every episode is being rewatched twice, in order, just at a slower pace as we're watching them when they're hanging out with me in person at my flat (though tbh friend C who I mentioned watching all of Season 1 with but not beyond that in a previous post, while they appreciate it, also I suspect finds it a touch too full of sadness and despair for it to be a cosy comfort show, so it might just be friend B who I continue to watch with) it was Episodes 16 through 19 (so Episodes 16, 17, 18 and 19) that we watched this time, if it was just Episodes 16 and 19 I would have put "Episodes 16 & 19". Perhaps you also meant that you can only binge-marathon it, not watch it really slowly? Anyway yes it's an amazing show and I'm getting a lot out of rewatching it (as is friend B who has really gotten into it this being their first viewing of the series) :)

Silver Spoon is pretty lit thus far, I'll at least say whether I enjoyed it as a whole when I have finished it, in the hopes that will help you and anyone else here who's curious about it decide whether to watch it or not :)

The Adventures of Pinocchio (1972, English dubbed) - A fairly faithful though somewhat simplified down animated adaptation of Carlo Collodi's novel, from it's home country of Italy, was def more faithful than the 1940 Disney version (also at least somewhat more closely hewn than the Enzo D'Alo version which I also rather liked, and than the 1959 Russian The Adventures of Buratino), but not as good as the book, the artwork and animation are also pretty solid but it's hard to top Innocenti's beautiful black hares from his illustrated version of the novel. Worth watching and the dub is decent, but would recommend the book over it :)

Courage the Cowardly Dog Season 3 Episodes 1-2 (Episodes 27-28) - I love this show it's a pleasure revisiting it :)

I agree with this (excellent series!) and would like to also draw attention to Hyakushou Kizoku, Arakawa's bite-size farming-related memoir show which is currently streaming officially on YouTube with hardly any fanfare: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhGamQZtJ7K9VVRwIG2-fgmS-mSrUAsVB

It's no Silver Spoon but I find it quite funny and it's easy to burn through the short episodes.

Thank you so much for mentioning this Rui, I had no idea this was officially available anywhere and had given up on being able to watch it!

Initial D complete

After taking a punt on the first remake movie on Prime I got super hooked on the show. Personally I thought the first 3 series were the strongest, but that’s mostly because I liked all the side stories for the MC’s friends. I also enjoyed the OVAs as I really like those characters. Random nude scenes in those ones though, where did those come from 🤣

The remake movies were all really good too. I enjoyed the updated animation for the races and thought the more trimmed down story was cool and some people will like that, personally I don’t mind a little padding for the side characters. Both the movies and the show had their plus points.
