Just finished episode 3 and Nene is my favourite so far. Probably because of the "spectre of moe".

I keep having to tell myself that she wasn't a moe character and liking her will not hurt my image at all...

Finished Bakuman s1 last night. Was okay but I'm sure the real process of becoming a mangaka is not as pleasant.

Next up is both Berserk tv series and also Rozen Maiden.

Space Brothers - Episode 64

Out of curiosity, how long is it going to be?

I don't think they actually have a total airing set. The manga itself is still ongoing, so i can only imagine they will keep going so long as the series has content to cover. Last i checked, they where still about 60+ chapters behind at least, so there is a lot for them to cover, and the pacing isn't exactly swift, so it'll be a while.

Gargantia of the Verdurous Planet - Episode 13 [End]

A good ending to a very enjoyable series. Wouldn't be surprised to see a sequel.

Magic Knight Rayearth - Episode 26

Another good episode that continues to thread the various subplots running through the show.

YTV is listing 77 episodes at the moment and they keep adding to the count every couple of months and as Arbalest states, with the manga still going I wouldn't be surprised to see to go 100+

Flowers of Evil 13

Hah. Leave it to this series to make its final episode mostly a long recap combined with a montage for a second season that we probably won't get. It was like a slap to the face and an agonising tease all at once. I couldn't possibly think of a more fitting ending! :p

Of all the anime I've watched this season, it felt like Flowers of Evil was the one that most had a creative and artistic vision that it executed and followed through with right up until the end. Everything from the rotoscoping to the music and the performances contributed towards creating an unsettling and foreboding atmosphere. It was a very tough watch at times, but it was never anything less than compelling viewing. It threw a mirror up towards both human behaviour and that dark and twisted side to our psyches that we have. It also did a great job in portraying that unique sense of alienation we experience as teenagers (well, some of us, your mileage may vary there :p ).

This all culminated in the final scene of Episode 7, easily the most breathtaking sequence of the season, as Kasuga finally rips off his "mask" and destroys the classroom with Nakamura. For the only time in the entire series, he feels free. It's an amazingly liberating experience that was directed perfectly. Episode 8 then followed it up with just an extended scene of Kasuga and Nakamura walking away hand-in-hand, no dialogue, just ambient music. A beautiful and absolutely perfect follow up to the previous episode's events, it didn't need words but it still spoke volumes. Honestly, I could just keep going like this, listing powerhouse scene after powerhouse scene in each episode.

Flowers of Evil is bold, uncompromising and brilliant. It was a total breath of fresh air and I definitely would welcome the chance to see more.

Im tottaly with you on this. It was a great show and its a shame we wont be getting a second season probably. For me, this was a little masterpiece that most of people didnt bother to try or to bear with the weird animation feeling in the beggining. I just loved the animation. Like i read somewhere, there's no perfect characters in here, there's no cute people, the characters are like real people, you get ugly, fat, crazy, nuts, etc. I just loved this. I just loved that hearbeat sounds from time to time when the guy was in less good situation and stuff like that. The audio was amazing too. I have no words to describe this and I can just advise people to give it a try. Its a breath of fresh regarding moe and cute girls and **** like that. Yes that type of shows can dissapear cause i dont mind at all. :p

To be honest, this series has raised the quality bar for me on some future shows.

Magic Knight Rayearth - Episodes 27 & 28

What is interesting on a show like this, especially at this stage of the run is how the animation varies, episode 27 had some really obvious shortcuts but they saved it for following episode which had a surprising amount of detail in it.

Bubblegum Crisis episode 4

I felt this was a much more satisfying episode than the previous three and I'm actually starting to get into the series now.

Yeah, I think they really started getting their act together with the show at ep4. It's kind of interesting as well for being (I think) the only episode that doesn't involve the boomers at all.
